Honest to God opinion. FEMA needs to be disbanded. It’s a racket and glorified kickback scheme with ‘Donations’ coming in from preferred companies. Who then get payouts from released Emergency Funds. Quite a few of the State level Agencies are also complicit. God knows how many County Agencies are.
Any Disaster Relief at a Federal Level should immediately default to a Military Operation. The whole reason for the existence of U.S Military’s Northern Command. Is Defense of the Homeland. So allow them to defend the bloody homeland.
We can have Tens of Thousands deployed with the Logistics Capacity to allow sustained Combat to anywhere within the world inside a week.
We should be able to deploy just as many domestically within hours. Field Hospitals and Triage Centers for Casualties. Engineers and Seabees to start reopening roads and repairing vital infrastructure. Round the clock Search and Rescue Flights and Drone Operations. Generators to restart power to key facilities. Water Purifiers that can ensure a reliable supply of Water to Evacuees and relief personnel.
MPs to assist Local and State Police in deterring Looting and keeping Order. Along with turning over any troublemakers to relevant Civilian authorities. Not to mention maintaining Security on relief supplies.
And plus some Coordination for Civilian Volunteers and incoming Donations. There’s Lord knows how many Private Aircraft in and out of there in a haphazard manner. And God knows how many independent sites set up in Random Parking Lots and shit.
Refueling stations within the AO that have reliable sources of additional fuel can only benefit Volunteers with Private Aircraft. Not to mention arriving pilots won’t waste time passing over areas searched by other pilots l.
