From David Goetz (Major Dave). on FB.
The NCSBE has now concluded their meeting this morning and adopted a resolution listing several measures they considered implementing in order to respond to the situation on the ground in Western NC to insure elections proceed with as little disruption as possible. I am hoping that document will be made public very, very soon.
One provision is that displaced persons can turn in their Absentee Ballot at any County BoE in the State, since some displaced persons are now in another county, in a shelter perhaps or living with relatives in another part of the State.
They are working directly with NC Emergency Management to arrange for temporary polling sites, likely using tents, StarLink and generators at locations most commonly used for Early Voting. They do expect Early Voting to commence on the 17th, 10 days from now. More to come.

Don't have FB. Sorry.
Anyone know which way they lean?
Ashville = D Charlotte=D The rest of the state=R and Undulates in Raleigh
Boone (in mountains) = D. Chapel Hill, and Durham = D. Raleigh is more blue than red.
Not anymore if they're paying attention.
Wait, are you telling me Ashville is democrats not republican?
Asheville is/was known as the southern San Francisco.
Holy piss, I had no idea. So the dems aren't rescuing their voter base and trump went to help ppl that hate him.
They love him now….
I can't believe i am just finding out about this just now. I honestly believed the dems were letting trump supporters die.
No, it’s worse- the Dems are letting everyone die-
about 30 yrs ago it started flipping to D ,the eclectic art/music world AKA gay as fuck community moved in and took the whole place over.
Damn, still sucks for these ppl, but i am shocked harris isn't doing anything for them since they are/were voting for her
Why would a voting precinct need Starlink?
It offers cell phone service.
As a NC poll worker here I can't begin to tell you how many times we have to call into our County Election Board to assist with issues that come up during Election Day either to have them search out a voter whom we can't locate in their data base or to assist with other equipment issues. I can't imagine all the problems Western NC will have just to run their precincts in that situation. Much less find poll workers to run it!
In my county we have only 5 Election Board members, an Election Board Director and an Assistant Board Director. They have a few IT peeps who help fix equipment problems and and a few runners who bring last minute info on Election Day.
My county consists of 19 precincts and over 800 square miles. It takes a lot of effort for our County Board of Elections to be able to address each precinct on election night in a county of this size.
Multiply this info by what they have to do in Western NC where many towns or precincts are inaccessible to their own County Election Boards. It just boggles my mind.
