Early voting begins in Georgia next week and several states have already started. States that are still using Dominion machines produces a printed paper copy that one then takes over to the ballot drop machine as they exit the polling station. But did you know that the machine that you insert your printed paper ballot into only reads the QR code at the bottom of the page? So even though it may say Trump/Vance at the top of the page, the QR code could say something different.
I urge everyone who inserts a ballot with a QR code to use the camera reader on your phone to check that the QR code matches your vote before you leave your polling station.
EDIT: Instructions: Open the camera app on your phone and aim it at the QR code but don't take a pic. The lens of the camera is a QR reader. It will hone in on the code and open up the details in another page that allows you to see what is embedded in the code. If you've never used your camera app to read a QR code, I urge you to practice a few times on trusted QR codes...
Many restaurants used the QR code/camera reader method for seeing their menu during covid.
And take a picture of the ballot as verification.
IMPORTANT
Do NOT just scan random QR codes to practice. Try to find QR codes you can trust (from reputable sources/people). Attackers are using these to direct you to sites containing malware.

Of course they are...I should have known that this could be turned into something that does harm. Thanks for this!. I've updated directions in my post.
Any time!
There are apps available to download onto your mobile phone. Mine is titled QR & Barcode reader. Sorry I can not post an image here.
Great point! The important thing is to not take anything for granted about the ballot...see what's embedded in the code. I wish I had thought to do this during the primary when Hershal Walker 'lost'.
Can someone explain how exactly?
See edit in post.
THANKS OP!!
CAMERA READER ?
I just did an edit to include directions.
GOT IT ,THANK YOU
We voted early in AZ today, we were not allowed to put our ballots into a machine. Instead they gave us an envelope and had us sign it and once sealed we were told to put it in a drop box at the door by the exit. Sure didn’t make me feel secure about my vote. The lady sitting at the box said it will be counted on Nov 5th.
Make sure this is legal. In NV it will get your ballot thrown out if you take a photo of it.
Agreed. I'm not advocating for taking a picture of the ballot. In GA, cell phones must be turned off while in the voting booth...but....
Camera QR code scanning tends to only work for websites, especially on iPhones. You need an independent app that is dedicated to QR codes. QR Codes can contain 1000's of characters of text.
This should be a sticky
