Democracy includes ALL the people, not just the people that agree with you.
We are a republic. A constitutional republic. Anything else is just a sign of demoncratic indoctrination.
Yes of course however, some refuse to acknowledge that so, just speaking in terms they would understand.
THIS
Trump Derangement Syndrome is ingrained in the DNA of these misguided souls, unfortunately.
They refused to take the red pill, now they'll be forced to take the painful red suppository!
The cognitive dissonance, projection and gaslighting is stunning.
Not going to subscribe to read terse comments.
“Jeff Bezos clearly does not give a flying rat's patootie about what happens to the Washington Post's reputation -- or our democracy -- as long as he does not burn his bridges with Trump the fascist and stays obscenely rich. When this country needs real journalism, including endorsements of sane and responsible candidates, like never before, he tacitly genuflects to Trump. For shame! I bet many Washington Post reporters and columnists are searching their souls to decide what they should do in the interests of preserving real journalism and their own reputations.“ —Diane
“Isn't this how Germany finally succumbed to fascism? When people are silent the bully continues to take advantage. These billionaires became billionaires in a democracy. In a Trump administration they hope to become oligarchs. What they really are are cowards.”—Willin46
“And so the end is nigh for this once great nation. The powers that be are sniveling at the feet of the tyrant. Sic semper tyrannis” —FloTingCitizen
“ during the 1930s run up to ww2 german industrialists backed hitler and were in large part responsible for the nazi reign of terror. they thought they would be able to control hitler and profit from his military build up and the slave labor he created. it certainly looks like US billionaires are giving it another go.“—allenj01
“If billionaires fear Trump then the rest of us are in serious trouble. Instead of caving they should fight!!! Since they are more worried about their businesses than our democracy then I see no need to support them. Canceling my subscription!”—LuvMore
“It will be 2016 all over again. Kamala will win the popular vote and he will win electoral college. I am currently exploring my options for leaving the country.”—Boss of Me
“You can take ‘Democracy Died in Darkness’ off the masthead, Bezos. You dumped on every American who died taking out Hitler, to whom Trump aspires.”—Portmeiron
No one is asking or telling them to give up their political viewpoint. These are azz holes. They are a newspaper that is purchased or subscribed to. For money. If the laundered Mockingbird funds dry up, how do they stay in business? People have realized that they’ve been lied to and left, these people are leaving because they are going to be bettered served by being exposed to opposing viewpoints. When the Smith-Mundt revision Obama passed gets revoked, it’s gonna be sweet. The lying will be over.
Not unbiased at all.
'correction] Since we are more worried about the economy, and the survival of our businesses, than democrats.
I fixed that for them.
Also, Hitler features prominently. But that is just fan fiction. Really they wish they had that sort of power, and then they'd squash all Republicans like bugs.
In context: 1929 was stock market crash sparking a global depression. All governments, including Soviets, Germans, Westerners, Chinese, and even Antipodeans turned to bigly construction projects, for example roads and dams, as well as random towers upon hilltops, just to do something, using 'slave labour' - i.e. starving individuals worked, who were needing a few cents to eat. They also used Prison labor. The Unemployed queued for daily hires at businesses too, just to get some bread on the table that night.
[Hint: Construction is key. Hence Trump is liderally Hitler]
The two ideas are not connected. On the one hand you have a strategist fixing the economy by stimulating industry and construction, on the other you have death-concentration camps, utterly populated by jews. Yeah we have all seen Spielberg's versions of those camps, so we are trained to think that way. Also: Hitler is a name, so must be capitalized, just saying.
How much of a part did the 'industrialists' play, we'd like to know. The author claims it is 'large'. OK then: How much of the unrest in Germany was Bolsheviks killing German cousins on the previously German and now newly formed Polish soil? Now that we have witnessed a budding genocide of Russian speakers and a Russian intervention, this German invasion of Poland sounds like a playbook, somehow. A filthy trick to kill Germans, German Industry, and everybody else who got in the way, in Europe.
Furthermore: How much of the unrest was caused by Berlin turning into a filthy, alcohol-and-drug-soaked perversion of Liza Minelli's performance with a tranny?
No wonder some people wished to burn books.
