Damn. Science fiction came true in a bad way. Larry Niven, a popular science fiction writer in his time, wrote several stories back in the 60s and 70s where organ harvesting and smuggling, and governments making laws that made that harvesting easier and easier also from people who didn't want to donate, were a big plot point, and was sometimes accused of that being a ridiculous premise.

The government not only found a way to make money from their citizens killing themselves, but now because it legally exists, they are now financially incentivized to get their citizens to kill themselves.
Not to mention the net reduction in “free” government healthcare uses ge from those old and infirm and young and depressed. It’s so ghoulish. Does no one recognize the evil anymore?
Many really don't and it's crazy to have watched all this develop in real time.
