And Filipinos have had such an unfair disadvantage, not being able to just waltz over the border all these years. Maybe that can start to change!! Immigration policies that bring in the best and brightest!
DeSantis attempted to tackle the problem here in FL, but after talking with a bunch of construction company owners, it doesn't seem to have worked and no one is really sure why, other than the construction firms called the bluff by not filling out the required paperwork at both the State and Federal levels, and no one at the FL State level has really followed through with the proposed sanctions against the businesses and owners. And it doesn't look as if the Feds followed through, either.
This all just shows to me that the legislators in our govts are still just all talk, no walk and it was all just a political stunt to garner votes back in 2022.
And eliminate the loopholes that allow H1B visa holders to steal jobs from Americans.
Corporations LIE and say they can’t find a citizen to do the job so they can hire H1Bs at a cheaper rate. Happened at my job. The company didn’t advertise the job and wanted to underpay US developer candidates so no US citizen would accept it. I had those skills so I know what the going rates were. At a prior job,I was making over $20,000 MORE than what my current employer would pay for the same tech stack. And, they laid off a bunch of tech employees but turned around and hired Tata, an H1B employer to handle those tasks. It took Tata over a month to do what we normally did in a week.
I work for an international staffing firm and 100% of our support agents are in the Philippines because they earn on average less than $5K per year. I'm not kidding.
We need a tv show of ICE arresting all the illegals, like Japan did with their foreign invaders.
Yeah!
