I friggin love this place so glad I came out of the shadows of lurking!
Welcome to the battle field! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!
WINNING!!!
As former student of Texas A&M (Class of 1980), I am mortified that this was even offered in the first place.
honestly... before they cut it... ...they should co-opt it. teach some REAL facts about lgbtq and gender. since apparently much of the world has forgotten.
As one of the original Morrill Land Grant colleges, Texas A&M has always prided itself in offering USEFUL degrees. Engineering, agriculture, pre-med, accounting, the sciences and mathematics.
I would imagine Texas A&M listens to its alumni. If you aren’t already, I encourage you to get plugged into the alumni network and go on the offense to actively engage the university’s leaders to continue to make positive changes like this. I am doing this at my alma mater (a major state university dominated by liberals) and patriots are gaining ground.
Oh, believe me, the alumni have been very vocal.
The first shoe to drop?
FARMERS FIGHT!
Is it really a win? Looking at the attached document, it's removing useful programs like petroleum engineering. The rainbow flag program is marked "keep"
The document shows that the college requested to keep LGBTQ studies. Over to the right column on that same page it shows that the provost denied the college’s request. It is getting axed.
As for petroleum engineering - I hear you on that but it seems that it wasn’t a very in-demand program from students. Other universities offer excellent petroleum engineering programs so I think Texas A&M is just making a decision there based on supply and demand.
For years, Texas A&M was the top Petroleum Engineering school in the nation.
As well as Jewish Studies. I wonder how well Christian Studies is doing.
What even do they study? Lessons in sodomy?
Seriously???? THAT's a REAL degree????
They can eliminate LGBT studies, but Q studies can stay, which is here, at GAW.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
But why? . . LOL!
GTFOH!
Consider?
Let us know when you completely ELIMINATE them.
The Left's reaction to this election is proof positive that programs like this are ruining our country via wrong think.
Make college great again
Advanced education needs to get back to its core function -- STEM. Degrees in the humanities (with some exceptions like History and language) are nearly worthless and are the pathway to indoctrination. Coursework in Art and literature should be offered as minors attached to some other actually useful Bachelor level degree. Womens studies only makes militant women. Minority studies only make militant race hustlers. Both these could be offered as part of a larger history degree.
