There was also Hubert Humphrey who was Lyndon Johnson's Vice President and looking for a promotion. That was in 1969. Ironically, the last Vice President to certify his or her own election was George H. W. Bush in 1989.
Yes, I believe so just like Pence had to certify. This time though, the Dems changed the rules and tied her hands. I don't think they can send it back to the states for a "pause" to recount. They're stuck certifying the election....
1800: Thomas Jefferson, the Democratic-Republican candidate for president, lost the Electoral College vote to Aaron Burr, but Jefferson ultimately won the presidency through a contingent election in the House of Representatives. As the runner-up, Burr became the vice president-elect, and he certified Jefferson’s election.
1880: James A. Garfield, the Republican candidate for president, won the Electoral College vote and became president-elect. His running mate, Chester A. Arthur, lost the vice presidential election to Thomas A. Hendricks, but Garfield’s victory meant Arthur became vice president-elect. Arthur certified Garfield’s election as president.
1948: Strom Thurmond, the States’ Rights Democratic candidate for president, lost the Electoral College vote to Harry S. Truman. As Thurmond’s running mate, Fielding L. Wright, lost the vice presidential election to Alben W. Barkley, Wright certified Truman’s re-election as president.
In 2022 the Democrats passed a law making it that the vice president has to go with the numbers presented to him or her
It's another case of the almighty Trump boomerang.
Al Gore
Richard Nixon, when JFK was elected.

kinda sounds like they dug their own grave
They did a lot of grave digging for themselves with legal precedents too.
All Part of the Plan, Fren. We're seeing the fruits of Trump, Q, Anons and Patriots!!!
Except they don't follow rules
Too many of us know the rules now and they know it.
The Pres of the Senate (AKA, the VP) certifies the results, she just happens to be the candidate that lost.
Serves them right
