This division provides continuing FY2025 appropriations to federal agencies through the earlier of December 20, 2024, or the enactment of the applicable appropriations act. It is known as a continuing resolution (CR) and prevents a government shutdown that would otherwise occur if the FY2025 appropriations bills have not been enacted when FY2025 begins on October 1, 2024.

Well guess what, the FY2025 has not yet been passed.

He can’t make appointments until he’s sworn in . . . Normally. Lots of balls still in the air and even concealed at this point.
You are correct, I just looked it up. So the senate confirmation process takes place between now and Jan 20th?
I also read the government must be in recess for 10 days before he can make recess appointments. This could bring in the 10 days of darnkess scenario.
Perhaps we get another CR for one month, takes us to Jan 20th and then the government shuts down. I'm just spit balling here.
This sounds like a possible idea. I'll bet Trump thought about this and hopefully this is the way it's going to come about. Thanks.
He did warn us that things will be rough before they get better. I’m expecting a bit of chaos between lat dec and early Jan.
Perfect time to crash the market
I was just thinking this.
What if the government does shut down on Dec 20th and stays shut down for an entire month? The Democrats and RINO's thinking it may stop the Senate confirmation process and hurt Trump's ability to fill his cabinet positions.
Then Trump is sworn in on Jan 20th and makes his recess appointments.
He needs to be President before he can do that.
How can he make appointments when he hasn’t taken the oath of office yet? As CIC can he do so? Or is the SC going to release Brunson ruling soon?
Can trump do that prior to inauguration?
Good question, people are saying he needs to be sworn in as President before making recess appointments however, there is the whole Insurrection Act and CIC theory that has been floating around for a while. If this was made known to the public, we would be in uncharted territory
There was also a theory that Trump ended the United States Corporation and we reverted back to the original Constitution. Under the original Constitutional there were no limits on terms of service for the President. Two term limit came with the 22nd Amendment in 1951. It was theorized that by ending the Corporation, Trump would be eliminating the Federal Reserve Act and potentially every amendment after 1913. Opening the door for 45 - 47.
