Take them to the coldest planet out there and drop them off with nothing.

i gotta disagree with this. on the infinitesimally small chance that they survive and populate a planet. it can't be risked.
Just jettison the second stage (cargo/passengers) and let it drift as space trash with them in it.
ITS TOO RISKY. This is the classic bond villain mistake.
Even launching them straight into the sun leaves too much room for error. We have incinerators right here on earth.
