Indeed some oommenters can even see the more lethal danger lurking in the wings:
the NATO bases (edit: in ME) are sitting ducks of which more than likely will be hit by the Zionists just like the "USS Liberty" (edit: and blame Russia, by reacting to a Russian reaction and simultaneously provoking the now-open idea of NATO vs. Russia)
Thus, the dagger under the blanket - where MSM spins everything. (Just like the North Korean soldiers story was a set-up to this moment). MSM loves this type of thing, because they seed a narrative for a couple weeks and then start 'leaking' intel from un-named sources. To take the words out of the mouth ot tha actual White House, and declare war under-the-table. If the Russians react to the claims from un-named sources, then (((they))) can justify USA boots on the ground, and 'Trump-proof' the next term.
And in response to that comment: Unless someone has a go at the Russian base down there (ME), I think the NATO bases most vulnerable in this context - i.e., the context of: now Russia is formally at war with NATO - will be Rammstein, and anything in former East Germany that is known or easily understood because connections etc. Some in Russia believe that East Germany has been betrayed, for example.
Also Polish bases, of course. But the Polish politicians are also eye-ing some previously Polish, now Ukrainian land, so maybe it is advantageous for the Russians to just let the Poles run into Western Ukraine, before new lines are drawn. Some Russians even feel that East Germany needs to turn back on the other border with Poland, and connect to Kalinigrad from the West. This last move won't need many actual Russian soldiers, because plenty of willing East Germans will do it, since it is on home-turf. The Russian sanctions are backfiring hard now.
Perhaps the Romanian NATO-base, further South is like that too - sitting on a two-edged sword, because not all Romanians agree - in fact, that action could start something more, in terms of Moldova and Transnistria.
These bases, especially the last one, have been very busy gettin' stuff over the border into Ukraine - I think - judging by the sparkly fireworks near Odessa, recently.
a report from The New York Times on Sunday, which cited unnamed American officials,
So, I guess we are in a fluid situation right now, and it is still an op, to 'test the water' in the USA population. Seeing as there is no 'official' annoncement yet.
"Foreign entanglement" includes such actions as provoking a war between two foreign countries. So, hundreds of billions of dollars spent on supposedly sparing American lives? Freedom? Explain to me how NOT entangling in war between other countries is going to save American lives. Oh right, the latter will 100% save Amercan lives, because there will be no war. Furthermore, such a policy might even provide more troops on the Southern Border (formerly they would have been stationed in some God-forsaken foreign land). So, why are all those moneys spent MAKING war, then? Something, something, weapons manufacurers; glad-handed politicians; important (in their heads) spooks on a mission to buying a condo in Florida, etc., etc. The safeguards that were in place in the constitution were meant to keep USA out of useless wars, and to protect the people living there, from foreign invasions. This whole proxy/endless wars strategy is a way to siphen away hard-earned, sweat-soaked US dollars, just to play imaginary, not really, akshully wars, as in, USA is not at war, but we need more weapons, they say.
The Russians are not fooled, they can see US' well-funded proxy that is now replacing men and officers with NATO dudes (but alas, not enough, because the USA has not akshully declared war - honest).
Meanwhile, the hungry jaws of a draft are waiting. Much as I love Trump, and I believe in the honorable tradition of going into armed services, and MAGA, there is a massive sucking sound coming from those not akshually wars. And if the draftees don't trust that they won't get stationed on a hellish front for freedom, how many people want to sign up for sudden death by war to protect the freedom of some sh!thole? Not many. Patriotic duty to protect the homeland? Well yes, of course. In my opinion, this whole spreading freedom and democracy thing is a clandestine attempt at 19th Century imperialism or idealistic missionaries going to tame the fuzzy-wuzzies.
Putin has warned that it is not the issue of how far, or deep the missiles can reach, but that those ATACMS missiles are guided by the USA satellites, built by the USA, and flown by USA service-members, quickly sheep-dipped to be Ukrainian, kinda, sorta.
The point is any arrivals of that sort means that Russians will understand that it is the USA that they are akshully fighting, in an undeclared war. And so, reciprocal action will mean some sort of blow (also undeclared) on the USA, actual, rather than just killing its mercs. My guess is the reciprocal action will be through a proxy/ally. Life is hard.
Putin knows the American citizens are not behind any of this nonsense.
and that we never voted for FJB or Heels up Cameltoe.
the deep state jokers can make all the remarks they want, it's not gonna fool any one.

Of note:
RT correctly states

Also, check out the comments.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't this need to go through Congress?
"We" are clearly escalating a "war" between two foreign countries. I'm pretty sure there is no clear danger to our shores...
And yes, I realize the Constitution doesn't matter to these diaper wearing suits, but just pointing out how utterly retarded this is.
Ah, but that brings up several points

I would think Trump would make it clear to Zelensky - "don't even think about it!"
