The 2nd amendment does not grant anything. It recognizes what God gave us. The Bill of Rights also does not grant anything, but is a pledge by Government that it will uphold and defend those rights. Important perspective of understanding.
100% correct! I have had this conversation a thousand times in my life and people still don't seem to get it.
Unalienable God-given rights are the rights of all people in every country. America has a document which states that our government recognizes that we have God-given rights and our elected officials cannot make a law to take any unalienable right away.
They work for us. Public servants. We are the public and they are our servants. They have no right to make laws that tell us what to do without our consent.
Sadly, too many of our fellow Americans are willing to give up our rights because they can't think for themselves. It's up to us to know what our rights are insist upon our rights. If we leave it up to government our rights would disappear overnight.
I would add this since we are talking about rights. If you ever have a run in with law enforcement. Say this, and nothing else.
"With all due respect officer, I will answer your questions. But first I am invoking my 6th amendment right to counsel. I invoke my 4th amendment right against unlawful searches and seizures and I now invoke my 5th amendment right to remain silent."
Then remain silent. Not another peep. No matter what.
The Bill of Rights (1 Amendment - 10) is a list of things the Federal Government "The United States" (as opposed to "these united states") IS NOT ALLOWED TO DO.
Let's be clear, frens. The Constitution does not give us, grant us, present us with anything. What it does is guarantee our already inalienable rights. Very important distinction. Your rights come from God, your creator. They are as much a part of you as your bones and tissue. All our beautiful constitution does is guarantee you redress if someone or some thing tries to deny those rights to you.

No, you do not answer any questions!
Agree, the first part is just being polite. I do not intend to answer any questions.
Understood!
That's right. The constitution lays out protections of our god given rights.

The 2nd amendment says absolutely zero about guns....
It states our God given right for self defense regardless if the weapon used...
The left made the 2nd about guns because a gun is the most efficient weapon to used for self defense... And against tyranny....
