Anyone have an idea why its taken Trump so long to name an FBI director? He seemed to have filled the majority of his cabinet quickly, yet he hasn't been in a rush to get this job filled. Just wondering.
He’s made several other announcements tonight about people that would be working in conjunction with Kash, so I’m going to assume he was waiting for their background checks before he would make the announcement for all three departments. One of them is a sheriff, and I can’t remember his name though, I think it’s for the DEA. I’ll have to go look. But that’s my assumption.
My supposition is that President Trump knew that Kash's announcement would rock DC. The longer he waited, the more the anticipation built and the less time Kash would have to endure the chaos that is sure to ensue. Suicide weekend, anyone?
Because Wray is the FBI director and could stay until 2027, so the position is technically not open. Trump will fire him or Wray will quit, and then he can actually appoint Kash.
Also - FBI director is not a cabinet position - serves under the AG.
From the White House site:
The Cabinet includes the Vice President and the heads of 15 executive departments — the Secretaries of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Labor, State, Transportation, Treasury, and Veterans Affairs, as well as the Attorney General.
There will be over 1,000 positions that require Senate confirmation - including the Cabinet positions, people like judges and US Attorneys, Ambassadors, etc.

I actually expected him to wait longer for that very reason.
Same here.
An opportunity to watch where the rats run to.

He's torturing the deep state.
I contemplated that issue as well.
