My Way sadly a frequent at funerals is not what it seems, it is a song of pride and self righteousness. Proverbs says Pride goes before destruction- not a fall that's the lie!
The final verse is probably the worst, this man is not one who kneels I.e one who has totally rejected Christ and the Father and is proud of it! They have done it their way and sod anyone else - zero humility!
So thanks for telling us the time is near, the satanic cabal is about to fall - hallelujah prise God.
I disagree. A man can be proud that he stood up against the normal because he loved Jesus. Also, because he didn't join in with the popular opinion and helped out every person he could.
Even just relating this to the music industry alone, and what we know about it now. I would have to guess it was the same back then. So if Frank didn't sell his soul to devil for riches and fame that would be a self pride worth singing from the roof.
Although, I do agree that a wonderful man who does as best he can by the Lord, usually doesn't need to sing it.
I won't say it with certainty, because it's been awhile since I've seen any of it. But I do remember seeing shady stuff about Frank and his satanic connections. So context does matter when it comes to lyrics, and I'd say if he was of the satanic crowd then that definitely plays a role in how these lyrics should be interpreted.
