My Way sadly a frequent at funerals is not what it seems, it is a song of pride and self righteousness. Proverbs says Pride goes before destruction- not a fall that's the lie!
The final verse is probably the worst, this man is not one who kneels I.e one who has totally rejected Christ and the Father and is proud of it! They have done it their way and sod anyone else - zero humility!
So thanks for telling us the time is near, the satanic cabal is about to fall - hallelujah prise God.
I disagree. A man can be proud that he stood up against the normal because he loved Jesus. Also, because he didn't join in with the popular opinion and helped out every person he could.
Even just relating this to the music industry alone, and what we know about it now. I would have to guess it was the same back then. So if Frank didn't sell his soul to devil for riches and fame that would be a self pride worth singing from the roof.
Although, I do agree that a wonderful man who does as best he can by the Lord, usually doesn't need to sing it.
we have learned over and over that none of 'them' make "it" unless they are compromised in one way or another. what exactly did he do for the Lord???
he was in a rat pack, they all sold their souls for fortune and fame. this goes way beyond Diddler. this has been happening in Hollyweird since it began.
people who want fortune and fame sell their soul for it.
there are millions, upon millions of people who have talent, only those who sell their souls make it. hmmmmmmmmm........
yes there was, but i don't remember the drop number.
but a lot of people go to hollyweird wanting to get fame and fortune, not all of them make it on talent alone, they have to do nasty things.
to be honest i don't think Frank can sing that well. many other people sing way better than him. imo, he was elevated because he would do what satan told him to do. that is between him and God.
I won't say it with certainty, because it's been awhile since I've seen any of it. But I do remember seeing shady stuff about Frank and his satanic connections. So context does matter when it comes to lyrics, and I'd say if he was of the satanic crowd then that definitely plays a role in how these lyrics should be interpreted.
This is written by a songwriter. Not by Sinatra. One who kneels is a weak man obeying the authority of other men. I don’t make the Jesus connection specifically in the context. It’s about being an individual and making your own choices and accepting the consequences for them. I’m sure you can rework it to be about his way being the way of godlessness based on one line, but it seems more about the daily struggle of everyday life.
Written in the incendiary year of 1968, the song reflected the paradigm shift the world was undergoing, as signalled by the evolution in pop music from the songs of Sinatra to rock & roll. It was the start of a new era, and Sinatra belonged very much to the previous one. He told Anka that rock & roll made him feel irrelevant, and felt it was time to call it quits.

Yep. Wasn’t there a q drop about this. Born into this and raised as a satanic scumbag or getting sacrificed?
yes there was, but i don't remember the drop number.

The majority yes but not all. I would agree if you take the lyrics as a self proclaimed praise by Frank Sinatra that's not a good light.

Oh, Paul Anka is a piece of… work.
Anyone who hasn’t heard this classic… should. 🤣

Bob Hope would appear a saint next to Frank. But appearances are deceiving.
That was the song for the first dance of POTUS & FLOTUS at the Inaugural Ball. 🎼🎶🎵
