Single bills that take 20 minutes to read and a further hour to analyze would be functional. With a 24 hour deadline, one could even sleep on it.
But, even 116 pages (pruned down from the thick book from the opposition), is too many, considering the density. So I suggest MAGA prunes down their emergency bill to 10 pages maximum.
Also there is a Trump card up the preverbial sleeve: I think MAGA sees a shutdown as a perfectly sensible solution - provided they keep offering relief fo people in genuine need - which defangs the arguments from the dems and limits the bill to what is essential.
the caner research thing is a lie. it was in a stand alone bill already passed by the House.
pushing the debt ceiling 2 years would take a weapon away from Democrats. RINO's are too stupid and soft to use it as a weapon - especially when Democrats don't care about debt.
once we passed 10 trillion in debt its all bullshit anyway. It might as well be 100 Trillion.
think of the budget fight like an Overton Window... each inch to the right is an inch to the right.
and FYI to some people here (not the OP): when they shut down the government - they shut down the parts that will cause the most pain - not the inconsequential parts. They will spend money blocking off parks with no entry fees. They will shut down the VA and suspend paychecks for military personnel. The purple hair fat cows in HR will continue to collect pay checks.
I have my doubts about childhood cancer research. 20 years ago, as a nurse in a pediatric hospital, I learned that 4 out of 5 children with cancer would survive. Now, St Jude's commercials tell us that 80% of them survive. This does not sound like progress to me.
Single item bills need to become the standard. Once this “singularity” occurs there will be no going back.
You lost me on the first point. So they can vote on a 1500 page bill but not on a 117 page bill? Can’t read 117 pages? What kind of idiots are they?
Yes, I wish to join this armchair club.

There is a reason a shutdown is looming and why everyone is back in DC.
Migrant funding. Shut down the government and it is chaos. Cannot have that happen before WWIII goes main stream'ing.
WWIII until Trump is in office. Then collapse the economy and let the migrants loose... that is the plan.
