Christmas DownUnder! Sun. Sand. Surf and lots of Sunscreen. We are taking our Christmas to the beach this year. The Grandchildren are older and we will set up a shade cabana where us older folk can chat about the year, remember those that left us too soon and watch as the next generation begins to take their place in the Circle of Life. The sky is suppose to be blue π€ and hopefully a slight breeze will keep the sting of the sun at bay. While you are starting to cook your Turkey, we will be enjoying seafood, cold ham, chicken, lots of different salads and freshly made fruit salad and later Pavlova, trifle and cheesecake. The most important thing though is that we are together and we can enjoy this beautiful time of year as we celebrate the greatest Gift of Love that God gave us when He sent His Son, Jesus Christ into the world. Have a wonderful and Blessed Christmas frens!!

Thanks! It's "just" a kidney stone but it feels like the end of the world. It's the first thing that has ever made me revise my pain scale.
Merry Christmas!
Bless your heart...I've heard how painful they are! ππ€

Merry Christmas Tink!!
Thank you so much. I pray that your family has a wonderful time together, and that your enjoy celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. π
Christmas Blessings!!
No turkey. Turkey is Thanksgiving and I get one of those in early October (Canadian Thanksgiving we celebrate for my Canadian wife) and late November.
Christmas is usually either a ham or a prime rib roast. Since Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is at my house this year, I made a spiral sliced yesterday and went to the local bakery and picked up fresh baked bread and the local dairy to get fresh cheese. All the different condiments will be offered and we will have sandwiches after Church tonight. I will build a large fire in the fireplace and a bonfire outside and the adults will drink warm apple cider and bourbon, egg nog with bourbon or like me just bourbon lol. My wife and mom will do Baileys and Kahlua. The kids will play in the snow and ice skate on my pond. Im giving everyone home made smoked deer jerky and smoked turkey jerky to bring home. My wife made the girls all a candle and homemade fudge.
Since we are having ham tonight we are doing a rib roast tomorrow with cheesy potatoes, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole.
Ill admit, I have fallen for the marketing here, but I cant even imagine a Christmas at the beach lol.
π€€ Sounds amazing!! No turkey π. Christmas is usually hot so salads and cold meat and the salads But this year we are having turducken π. Most of our patrolled beaches have a park backing them. Hubby and Son are heading out now - 8:00 am - to stake out a spot. I wonβt be swimming but Hubby is a 60s surfer so Christmas without a dip in the ocean will not happen! I would love to experience snow at Christmas but I think our travelling far days are over. We have visited Canada and Alaska though. Just stunning!!!! God Bless!!
I did spend the days between Christmas and shortly after New Years in Hawaii with my wife decades ago. But we love the winter here until the first couple weeks in February and then we get sick of it and head to the condo in Florida for a month. The end of February and March are rainy, cold, muddy and brown. And even if it does snow instead of rain its likely to be of the heavy, wet and slushy variety. Good time to hit the beaches.
Merry Christmas Matilda. Signing off its almost time for Church.
Sounds like a scene from a classic Christmas movie! And to have a local Dairy... fantastic! Enjoy your family!
Christmas blessings to you Matilda! πβ₯οΈ
