I believe they are/were gathering DNA for a very sinister reason.
They were trying to perfect that reason in the biolabs in Ukraine, and across the rest of the world.
One theory is that "they" are trying to find the bloodline of Jesus and to destroy it.. But spoiler alert they don't take into account the holy spirit !
That is possible.
They even made a movie along those lines, The Da Vinci Code, and they put pedophile Tom Hanks in as the hero.
