As far as I can remember, he has railed against H1-B many times, while also justifying hiring immigrants. The media used to constantly clip those soundbites to make it sounds like he was flip flopping.
The majority of people aren't arguing against the idea of skilled immigration. They are arguing against the fact that the H-1B is being used as a vehicle for the exact opposite.
Trump has not changed his positon. If closed minded people want to be believe differently that is their problem. When he chimes in, I will make sure to let them know .
