They did this in London, UK. There are many hidden costs. For example, anyone in London needing a tradesman (to do electrical, plumbing, building work) now gets to pay extra.
London and the surrounding areas have had lots of problems with the ULEZ cameras that monitor the congestion charge areas “breaking down” and spontaneously combusting. Very weird. There’s a lot of clips on X of such events
Just a legitimate question. Hochul is the governor... Why is the state getting involved on what seems like city business? Dosnt seem legal or appropriate at all in any way.
here's the thing that bothers me about this. the mta unions went on strike a few years back, and the mta claimed it was broke so they forced the unions to concede many things in their contracts. (I forget if they had to take a pay cut, but they certainly did not get raises.) then when everything was settled, a couple months after the strike, they suddenly found 1.5 BILLION dollars they had "lost".
now look at nyc, having the state pay to subsidize it's mass transit, allows this institution to keep raising the fare for the subways and buses for it's residents while also jacking up tolls on the bridges and tunnels it controls, along with the commuter rail services, long island railroad and metro north railroad. the hilarious part of this, imo, is the commuter rails operating at a loss anyway, why not make the fare minimal. instead of charging people nearly $20 for a one way ride into nyc, why not make that fare $5. how many commuters would stop driving and take the train like the government goons want them to? then again, who wants to bother with that when you have shooting, like that guy in garden city, long island or the people getting lit on fire because ny is soft on crime...
ya, ny is a shit show...
I said it's a shitshow there and someone said I cannot say that. It truly is because even my fren, a Marine, would not want to go anywhere on subway. It's just too much shit (not just human monsters, but garbage and things).
Shipping is gonna die in NYC if this is allowed to take effect. I wonder how much tractor trailers will have to pay?
They won't pay anything, any cost will be passed right along to the consumer. Enjoy your $18.50 coffee retards!

Yes. Everyone will starve.
They are gonna be at the precipice for sure..
It would not be pretty.
Cut them down like the u.k. 🇬🇧 or spray them with foam
Agree. Starve.
Is this taxation without representation? Did the people of New York City vote for this?
obviously, they elected the morons that thought this up.
Just a legitimate question. Hochul is the governor... Why is the state getting involved on what seems like city business? Dosnt seem legal or appropriate at all in any way.
new york STATE owns the mta, not nyc...
Ok got it. Ty
'course not.
Just another good reason to get out of NYC.
Yeah. I have fren still there. He is trying hard to move.
NYac need to check out the blade runners in London
Howls.
can't imagine what it's going to do to taxi's and ubers.
No one can operate now.
Snake Plishkin comes to mind. NYers put up with this?
Where's the attorneys?
Most likely in leftist think tanks.
Of course.
I suppose electric cars will be exempt.
Howls. I'll bet. You are probably right.
not to mention the trouble if you dare you the subway, they are creating panic and anxiety in an already fragile environment
I have fren there still. He is desperately trying to get out.

Sure don't want to be there.
I work in the city and yes, it is a shitshow. just not as bad as san fran, yet...
Oh. I am so sorry.
That's what it has become. Marines don't want to fight all the time.
You are right. No one wants to live in a state of flight or fight all the time.
Ny was tolerable in the 90s. It was amazing to see people walking to church on Sundays.
In the 90, SF was a beautiful tourist trap. I used to love it there too.
