What benefits does nicotine have? I just bought some nicotine gum.

Exactly.

And the addiction may lead you to something more as this one isn’t meeting the need when it’s old.

Nicotine will not kill you but it is addictive. If you start using even the gum you will end up with an addiction that will be hard to get rid of.

It apparently does have some effect on people that took the covid shots but I know people who died of turbo cancer and young people who have miocarditis from the shots and they smoke and it did nothing for them.

So please dont get yourself into an unnecessary addiction. Take it from someone who has smoked since I was 12. I am now 68 so that is 56 years of addiction I cant kick.

EDIT

I should have mentioned the last 14 years I did not smoke cigarettes I went to the vape with nicotine. I smoked cigarettes for 44 years and was at a point I could barely talk without coughing. When I switched to the vape the coughing stopped almost immediately.

I kinda feel cigarettes are made to be addictive- but of course any product they make will continue on that profit path of keep them coming back - so never mind 😂

I smoked for a long time, like 20 years bit eventually kicked it. You know what did it? The vapes that you used to see people with a lot that blow out large clouds. The thing about these is you can get the juice in different amounts of nicotine, including 0. So you can work your way down to the minimum nicotine amount, 3mg in my area, and then eventually switch to 0. It took me a year and a half to go from a 12mg to 0 to putting down the cape permanently. Its about slowly changing habits too like what you are doing when you usually have a smoke..... It kind of happens naturally in a way.

The bonus is you don't smell like shit when vaping and there are a lot of great flavours.

The other trick is to not use these other vapes that use cartridges, as they don't have a 0 available.

Anyway this is probably unsolicited advice. But it made quitting easy for me and I felt like sharing.

Yes I know that I threw away actual cigarrettes about 14 years ago and went to the vape which is what I still use today.

I did exactly that but I ordered the juice online because I could not stand the vape juices available at the vape stores. I always ordered enough to cover 6 months of juice and I went down to 0 nicotine too. I was actually good for about 6 months on 0. Then one day my order came in and I did not realize they had sent the juice with 12 mg nicotine so by the time I went through what I had I was already addicted again. Instead of going down I went up and for the last 5 years have been getting the vape juice with 18 mg nicotine.

Is this one of those spontaneous purchases or are you trying to quit smoking?

If you really want to know, the search bar is your friend. You'll find more good discussion in a bunch of threads than in just the one thread you do today. Many knee-jerk reactions who warn you against it mostly based on experience with cigarettes, along with plenty of reasoned arguments, testimonials and links to studies are in the various comments. TLDR- it's a good purge for temporary infections and poisons including covid and covid vax. Some use it as a prophylactic against the same ailments, but less consensus about that.

Try these:

Well I tried to warn of the addiction based on lots of experience. But on the other hand I did not have a covid vax and I have never had covid. Actually for my entire life I have only had the flu twice so for 68 years thats pretty good. I dont know if it has anything to do with nicotine though.

Always room for debate and observations in good faith. It's just that a lot of people don't get past the "nicotine by itself without cigarettes" distinction before commenting, and those are the ones I was referring to as knee-jerk, especially because that distinction is an important part of the nicotine-as-medicine advice.

The fact that many people here know (or are, like yourself) long-time smokers who are more healthy than average non-smokers should give everybody pause to reflect on generally accepted medical "truths."

The food pyramid has been so extremely wrong for so long people take it for granted that it's a lie. Even knowing this, many continue to believe that margarine is healthier than butter, fluoride is good for you, chemotherapy is a helpful tool, and eggs and salt are bad despite all evidence to the contrary.

I wouldn't recommend anyone who isn't already a nicotine user start. Very addictive and expensive. It also elevates blood pressure and can contribute to cardiovascular disease. If you're already a smoker/vaper or chew tobacco, the gum is almost certainly a safer alternative (when used correctly, of course).

If that's the case, why do smoking cessation (nicotine only) products (mints, gums, patches) carry no warning labels? Yes, nicotine is addictive. But also curative. It's all the additives in chew, cigs, and vapes that cause all of the other problems, IMO. Nicotine in pure form is just a plant put here by God.

I had never noticed but it should say they are addictive. By the way I have smoked for 58 years but I threw away the cigarettes about 14 years ago and went to the vape. I use a high amount of nicotine in the vape. I went to the vape because with cigarettes I started coughing and could not stop. I stopped coughing almost instantly once I switched to vapes.

With that sort of justification you could say the same thing about heroin, it comes from a plant the same as nicotine. Nicotine however is a neurotoxic poison that has been used to kill rats, and as dangerous as Heroin is, it's not even classified a poison at all.

I would second this recommendation, all this talk about it having an antiparasitic action while it may true, it doesn't mean you should take it every day, or even every week. In reality of course it has an antiparasitic action, it's been used in rat poison and as an insecticide, and it should only be used to combat an infection not preventative.

Once you chew through using it everyday, it keeps you sane. Your mileage may vary though.

As someone who smoked & vaped for most of 30 years, I don't recommend starting Nicotine unless you're made of sterner stuff than I. The problem isn't so much that it's difficult to quit, it's that cigarettes are available everywhere - they're the absolute easiest path to satisfaction and also the most deadly.

That said, if you do so and find you can't break the addiction, Desmoxan worked for me six months ago and I haven't had any nicotine since. It's OTC, but you'll have to google the instructions as they're in Polish on the box. No side effects for me other than making cigarettes revolting.

I will also say that once you're addicted, it takes years for it to go away. Even six months clean, I still have come close to buying a pack for "just one". Luckily wifey intervened. You will find your brain is very creative justifying ways to feed that addiction. It's sad and pathetic to anyone not under the influence.

Brother, thank you for this information, I’ve been dipping for 21 years (started at 12) I get around the 4 week mark after cold turkey and I always fall back into it. It really is a sad state to be in. 0/10 do not recommend to the OP.

Eliminates coughing almost instantly. Use a 2mg piece for 30 minuets, once a day, for 10 days. Cough gone for good.

I started trying out nicotine products the last couple of years, (I’m 58). I can’t get addicted to stuff, I don’t know if it’s in my genes or if it’s because my days need to be super organized because of my ADHD.

I like the nicotine patches you put in your mouth. I can’t figure out how people go through a box a day though. I take one after lunch, which is when I do most of the day’s work. It really helps me concentrate.

The second one is after I finish eating in the evening, that one stops me from eating more than I want.

I asked my dentists if it was true that it was actually good for your teeth. The one I have a longer relation with leaned in and whispered ”Yes, it’s basic (ph)”.
