I believe that’s why the road toward the front of Mar-A-Lago is closed until 2029. That just happens to coincide with the end of Trump’s term. The winter White House, right? We shall see, though.
Military Drone Calibration Activities to be held in D.C. region
"The drones will operate over Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Joint Base Andrews and Washington Navy Yard from Monday to Wednesday, the Air Force District of Washington said in a statement Friday (Jan 10, 2025)."
Now, all of these locations mentioned are on the east side of the Potomac River from the Ronald Reagan Washington National airport. So, the pilot would not have wanted to approach from the East, but could have approached from the North or the West, from what I can see.
I think I never use Reagan. Noise abatement means planes have to follow the Potomac at low level and low power. No thank you. I'll take BWI and drive the rest of the way
If you buy one from a store, sure. They have to update before they even take off and you can't take off in a FAA restricted space...it just won't let you.
But if you build and program your own, you can do what you want...but that illegal.
It is incredibly easy to override the geofencing. It is also incredibly easy to build your own drone or buy one that doesn't come from a large manufacturer and has none of the geofencing restrictions. You can even get a drone that doesn't use GPS at all, so the flight controller does not know where it is and is incapable of geofencing.
Thanks. I don't know much about building them. I did see DJI removed all geofencing. I assume it's possible to plug in a coordinate and let the GPS guide the drone in without outside control.
Trump should stay in Florida.

You are watching a movie.
Restricted Air Space, scramble a few fighters to handle it.
I found this article:

What do you guys think?

US anti-drone measure:

What is old, becomes new again.
Well! That should do it. Ha!
With 3" 4X6 duplex turkey shot.
If I'm not mistaken almost all drones are geofenced from sensitive sites.

Got it. [USSF enters the chat}

I read earlier today that DJI (a ccp company) removed all geofencing rules to give freedom back to the user. 🤔

That's not actually true. DJI did remove its own geofencing database, but replaced it with FAA datasets.
Wow…what timing.
Happens to me today in Houston. Ground stop for about 20mins and had to use different runway.
Trump said he will explain ..day one
