This has been a great day overall for our nation and much of the world - but on a more personal level, the TDS has zoomed off the charts with so many people that I know

Things had seemed to quiet down after the election, but now that the inauguration has actually happened the animosity has just exploded again.
Friends, family, co-workers, doesn't matter - they're all just losing it again and taking it out on anybody they suspect of being a Trump supporter.
It's depressing, really, when it should be such a triumphant day but all you get is a ton of hate all over again from people you love. I wish I could help them but I sure don't know how.
Hang in there, I guess, is all that I can say.

Yep, that's what I say to my mega-liberal coworkers. And then I smile.
Oh, they really hate that one, lol - even though you're right. They're convinced all gay people and all non-conservatives are going to be rounded up and put in camps. These are otherwise perfectly intelligent people and you can't tell them otherwise.
And all the people being deported by ICE are just poor families who need a "better life." There's no such thing as drug cartels or terrorist sleeper cells coming in.
It's crazy what people will insist on believing when their worldview is at stake. And how they'll cut off their own family members at the knees if they dare try to tell them anything different.
There may be a cure for cancer, but I don't think there is any cure for losing your worldview. You either learn to roll with it and realize that NOW things can get better, now that you understand -
or else you bury your head in the sand and insist that it's crazy to think our leaders might be criminals (except for Trump, of course.)
A dark cloud in an otherwise great day.
They still need to learn that you can't emotionally blackmail people by threatening them with a good time. Their world is crashing down as they can't comprehend that they never were a majority after all.
It hasn't been 12 hours yet. The coming weeks are going to be glorious

Get them to agree to revisit in one year how they feel about life, the country, and their situation and prospects.
My daughter went off the deep end with a raging case of TDS. She may have crossed the line calling my father (Nam Vet) a Nazi. It’s bad.

Was that recently? At least you know you're not alone. It's a byproduct of seeing Trump actually get back into office.
Talk to 'em about MAHA, and getting toxic additives out of our foods. Maybe just leave out the MAHA, just describe it as a concession to a big wing of the Democrat party by taking in RFK Jr. and embracing his contributions.
