They were Russian but after the collapse of Soviet Union, moved to America and were coaches of the US Figure Skating Team. They became American Citizens.
Yes, I do believe that you're right about his security clearance. Maybe revoking his SS was a chess move by Trump. I feel that Pompeo is sending a warning in this tweet.
Will Trump revoke his security clearance even if threatened? Trump doesn't back down. It is is war, after all.
Okay, there is something off about his statement "And pray that the first responders have the wisdom and strength to save lives."
You don't need strength to save lives. That's not a common statement whatsoever. The wanting to save human lives is generally innate. Particularly for someone who has chosen to be a first responder.
You also don't need wisdom to save lives. Some knowledge and common sense, yes, but not wisdom.
These nouns are relative to doing the right thing* OR *to accomplish an intended outcome. But isn't that a basic quality/requirement of a first responder to begin with?
I take it as another stab at DEI. Did you see the recent video of the lgbt fire fighter who cant carry a man out of danger and blames the burning man? There is the strength in question. Wisdom comes with experience, something most if not all DEI hires lack
Since he didn't die on the plane, I don't see how his SS detail being ended had anything to do with this?!?
He prays first responders have the wisdom? What a ridiculous statement - wtf? However, dont see a problem with him posting his sympathy for victims.
They were a bunch of Russian figure skaters but since they were in Kansas for a couple of days he sees them as family.
He prays that the first responders have the wisdom and strength to save lives? How about training and equipment?

Correction: Security detail revoked, not clearance.
Good point - you may be correct. Initially there were reports that his clearance was yanked but I can't find anything today confirming that.
That said - I expect it will in fact be yanked.

I feel like this is comms.
Comms, yes. And, I think, a warning.
