Report: Elon Musk Sleeping in Federal Office Building to Save Taxpayers $1 Billion Per Day
Elon Musk, the director of DOGE, and his staff are sleeping in the federal personnel office to save taxpayers about $1 billion a day, a person familiar with the situation told the New York Times.
He does that in his factories when he's working on something so I appreciate him and his team showing that level of dedication to We the People.
"What would you say you do here?"

To be fair, quite a few engineers are not good with the customers - even when the customers are engineers (talking from aircraft manufacturing perspective subcontracting to Boeing)
"If they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire" (poor Milton!)
DOGE, please don't take anyone's stapler!!!
I get that he hyper-focuses on things when he's working on them, but how does that save us a billion dollars a day?
Stupid headline
Because he's finding money disbursements and stopping them? That's what he's doing.
My goodness...what kind of hotel would they stay in that they can save $1B per day by sleeping in the office? /s
Per Diem (hotel and meals) per day Washington DC area is high. Multiple it by how many workers he’s brought in and it could add up although I suspect the “per day” may be an error.
I think it just means that DOGE's efforts are saving $1b/day and him sleeping in the office is HELPING achieve that, not that him sleeping in the office itself is directly saving $1b/day
Correct. All others are being silly. The ones who aren't are stupid.
Then again, they're my frogs and frens, so take it FWIW
Yeah. Post claim needs some 'splainin'
One billion? For a place to sleep? How many are on the team? Must be a million people.
Nah, that’s not it. By working the weekend they are finding more slush funds and putting a stop to it.
well, my first thought was that whoever is working on this project is better protected and anonymous at this time, so no need for separate security details...not sure how that adds up to $1B/day, but I am happy that they are all safe and working diligently...wondering if "federal personnel office" is code for something/somewhere else, but whatever it takes to get the job done, as efficiently as possible...
