DOD is different. Even if the rest of the deep state were neutered, the MIC is not. They want their weapons orders and forever wars. They also have the manpower (including mercenaries) to take over countries. This is a serious threat to their power and they won't go quietly.
I don't think the MIC would risk getting arrested or waste their power for USAID, DOE, or any of the other agencies. But DOD is another matter. That is their lifeblood.
I didn't want Trump or DOGE to advertise when they were going into the Pentagon. I wanted it to be quietly, at night on a Saturday, or even better during the SuperBowl. Even the Ops Centers in the Pentagon will have the game on their wall screens (trust me - it was pretty cool in the late '90s but should be awesome with the newer tech).
Now the DS and the MIC will have lawyers and judges waiting with their phones in their hands 24/7 so they can shut the audit down. They were already waiting on it, but now they know it is imminent.
