this is incredible, thank you Mr. Musk^ students needed someone to step in and help themπΈ
Bury that common core math. Such trash!
The only and Single loss from this is funding for free lunches.
This can be easily remedied while still collapsing the department.
School lunches are funded through the USDA https://www.usda.gov/about-usda/news/press-releases/2023/09/26/usda-expands-access-school-breakfast-and-lunch-more-students
The free lunches are funding the replacement population. I have seen those getting the free lunches with my own eyes at an event my former company insisted it's employees volunteer to staff.
From that day on I told them to stick it up their ass when they started pushing.
It should be reduced to 1 person. 1 Statistician who collects the data from the 50 states and produce whatever national stats and graphs that are needed.
The one thing Iβve wondered about is βspecial education.β PL94142 signed by Gerald Ford in 1972 aka βEducation for All Handicapped Children Actβ required that each and every school district across the nation provide for a βfreeβ (public cost) and appropriate education for all handicapped children, ages 3-21, in the least restrictive environment. Fast forward over 50 years, the Special Ed Department is now the largest department in every public school district. It is, to my knowledge, the only FEDERALLY-lawfully-required aspect of public education. π€
And it has become absolutely necessary with the massive numbers of autistic children in every school district. They need constant personalized care and attention. I substitute taught in our area, different schools every day, and the most heartbreaking (and exhausting) position was working with the special ed kids. If their lives were so impacted due to vaccines, as I suspect they were, it is a horrific travesty.
On a similar note, just started listening to The Telepathy Tapes podcast. (Series is also available on YouTube). Absolutely worth a listen β provides a fascinating new viewpoint on non-verbal autistic children and their true abilities. Our entire family started listening to this podcast and has loved it. It also calls into question how public schools tend to shy away from assisted typing and similar supportive devices for these children. The broader education system has failed so many of them.
