Imagine that they really do not want people to have heat in their homes and reliable affordable energy! THAT is their goal.
Remember, coal IS solar power. The sun provided energy for photosynthesis, stored in the plants that got pressed into coal.
Coal plants will be re-started?
It's not so easy to re-start a coal power generation plant that has been shut down for years. It could take 2-years to bring mothballed coal fueled electrical power generation plants back online.
In Colorado they tore a bunch down and moved to gas. When coal comes back the power company will push to be paid back because the government "made them" tear them down.
