Starlink for the Win! So based on the article the agreement says Ukraine must pay the US $500 Billion in rare earth minerals for continued (& I would imagine previous —$100 B) military support. Should sign today. I wondered if a pathway to rebuilding Ukraine will be in that deal. Maybe just restarting their mining operations will help since they have trillions in rare earth resources. I love that there are consequences to our providing military support BUT the human in me wants to see the country rebuilt for the people.
I don't want ANY US entanglements with greaseball Zelensky, or his [losing] war. I don't want "access" to the minerals. That only invites further entanglement in the region, and the potential to be double-crossed in the future. I want Zelensky to dig it up out of the ground, and deliver it to the USA. "Access" is a cop out.
Zelinsky will be history. Those mineral rights are necessary. We don't have every necessary resource in our own country so we need to get some of them elsewhere. Ukraine is just fine by me. Keeps europe out. Keeps Russia out, keeps China out. Pays us back our money in something we need. About time took some spoils.
Yep. We're happy to buy your goods. Halliburton-esque Foreign entanglement / corporate occupation not my favorite.
Edit: I leave plenty of room for the fact that I'm totally armchair quarterbacking and am not the man in the arena.
Agreed. I am arm-chair quarterbacking here too. While I do not see the "access" part of the deal to be optimum, I can see a potential benefit related to the possible (I think likely) scenario where US corporations are involved with post-war rebuilding of Ukraine.
In that scenario, US private interests would be incentivized to invest in rebuilding operations to help facilitate improved "access." It might work out better that way for all parties involved. But, I am still skeptical of the deal, particularly if team Zelensky is still around during that rebuilding phase.
That could be true due regarding rebuilding to improve access, and also I had the thought that perhaps Ukraine doesn't have sufficient capacity to supply us with the minerals. Aka we want them but they don't know how to get them out of the earth for us so we have to do it ourselves.
The article says the mining operations dropped significantly during the war so restarting will take money and time. I’m hoping the US will help rebuild the Ukraine and it makes sense that the companies who win the business take part in that. I bet Ukraine resumes elections soon and I don’t think the actor zelensky will be re-elected.
It's only right that we get mineral rights after all we put in. But what about the Ukrainians? They paid with their lives for Zelensky & the DNC's laundering schemes. I think a fair exchange for them might be all that Zelensky & the DNC stolen stole from this process
like my wife always says "damn, that was fast"

Zelenskyyyy is finished.
He ALWAYS wins🐸
Art of the deal
bitch
What else is in the deal? The dancing homo faggut queer should get nothing.
What’s the catch? Zelensky stays on? We now have to guard it militarily? We have to repay the rebuilding?

America will get access to minerals but who gets contracted to recover them, and who gets the money from that and where does it go
The fat lady is about to sing - we should know soon
i have a feeling it will be black rock, the taxpayers will subsidies it and the rewards will go to black rock, pretty sure that's how it usually goes
