It always baffles me when at the very beginning of an investigation, before the cause of death is even known, officials will "rule out" foul play like they did in this situation.
The sheriff even said "I want to assure the community and neighborhood that there's no immediate danger to anyone"
I’m not much of a movie watcher, but he was really good in ‘The French Connection’ ‘The Conversation’ and ‘Enemy of the State’. Pretty decent movies as well….all have a deep-state plot. I don’t know a lot of his other stuff.
I have no knowledge of his offscreen life. As far as his movies go my favorite was the 1985 film Target. There was just something about the plot that resonated with me. I think it was the idea that a person can be way more than what their outward appearances tell us.
Of course check out The Conversation from the 70s. Great conspiracy / spy thriller, but low key tone. Coppola wanted to make something more naturalistic and simple in between his Godfather films.
Thanks, I'll have to watch that movie in honor of Hackman. I'm fortunate to have known people that were pleasantly way more than their appearances would indicate. Those are the people you remember the most.
Seems odd there'd be one dead dog and the other two roaming around. No note(s) if a suicide.
Wouldn't this couple have had some sort of regular cook or house cleaning staff? Where were they this whole time? If they were told to "not come to work," who told them to do that?
'Wife' was probably his handler. I find them both sus. Either she offed them both or they were both offed for what they knew. Gov secrets or epstein shit. Dog probably was a little shit-dog and either starved or ate a pill...other two dogs probably outside dogs who scrounged for food.
Yeah, when first reported as not suspicious I was like, when you find two dead people and a dead dog, when is that not suspicious?
They jumped the gun with Michelle Trachtenberg, too. IMO
If anything, she would have been a party favor back in the day, me thinks.

Exactly what I said to my wife when she told me the news. How could anyone not find this peculiar?
RIP.

Hope they solve any foul play.
Crimson Tide is one of my favorite movies by Hackman. Sad to see him, his pianist wife and dog expire under very unusual circumstances.

And he has (at least) 3 adult daughters from a previous marriage. None of them thought to call Dad to say 'hi, how are you?" in over 2 weeks?
Yes ...all important considerations.
I rule out the dog, including a gun, due to the dog has no thumbs. RIP
Yes...poor pup may have eaten some of the pills. Authorities are saying this am Friday, 2/28 that their bodies were "mummified"
I am thinking poison ?
died natural causes or suicide, she's despondent and takes pills
she murders him & kills herself
they were both suicided, poor dog got in the way
door partially open us curious
I've got to stop reading Nancy Drew 😸

I'd been eyeballing groundskeepers.
