At least with a hostile crew, you know where you stand. This is like having a crew that's partially hostile, partially traitors and partially spies and you can't tell which is which. You don't know who you can trust to either give information to or receive information from and you can't trust anyone to carry out your orders or anyone else to do their jobs without actively undermining you.
