This is a little off topic but I'd like some feedback if possible. I was sitting at a table in McDonalds the other morning and a dude came up to me and asked me if I knew what the 11th Commandment was. I said no and he told me it was to love one another. Ok, I thought. Well he got to talking about how God doesn't like to be called God, Lord or Jesus, but instead wanted to be called Yahshua or Yahweh. I'd never heard God didn't like being called God. He had a bible entitled "The Sacred Scriptures" the Bethel Edition. Printed by the Assemblies of Yahweh in Bethel Pa. Have any of you heard of this? Does God only want to be called by Yahweh? I figured if we loved and accepted God as our Lord and Savior all was good. Now this fellow comes along and darn near tells me I'm a heathen for not following his tenants on what to call my Lord. Thanks for any input.
In summary, I'd take all of that with a grain of salt.
Yahshua or Yahweh
Yahshua is the pronunciation of the Hebrew name from which Jesus derives (Yehoshua, Yeshua). It means "Yahweh is help" or "Yahweh is salvation" (yeh/yah being an abbreviation for the Hebrew name Yahweh). Yahweh the name that God revealed to Moses at the burning bush in Exodus 3. I haven't heard of that print of the Bible or that group, but I can speak to the other questions.
Does God only want to be called by Yahweh?
This claim comes in part from Isaiah 42:8. Throughout the Bible, God is called by many names, and some of those names tell us about the nature and character of God. I don't see how people could claim that it is only appropriate to call God by one name when scripture (God's word) uses other names (Elohim, Adonai, etc.). For example, see Genesis 17:1 "I am God Almighty".
A literal, hard stance on the pronunciation of name Yahweh is not a stance I personally would take. There's a fairly good consensus among scholars that the precise pronunciation is lost to time. Until later in the 20th century, it was widely understood that the four Hebrew consonants for God's name (YHWH) should be pronounced "Jehovah". Now "Yahweh" is more common.
Thank you for the clarity. The gentleman who approached me was VERY adamant that only Yahweh should be used, all others are an afront to our Lord. It is my understanding that we as humans are very corrupt, yes we are full of sin, but I feel that my God is very loving and if he can look past our transgressions as being human, then when we lift His name up in praise, whether God, Lord, Jesus, Adonai, or others then He is very pleased. I cannot see Him being pissed at us using terms He's used to call him Heavenly Father. This gentleman seemed too adamant with his belief so I just put him a step away from being a cult member. But I do applaud him for being very fervent for the Lord. I wish I had that commitment to get the Word out. He called me a luke warm Christian, and I agreed. I like that man, but he had a way that turned me off, so I don't know how to process those emotions. Thanks for letting me pop off. This has been on my mind and I needed to know if I was committing a sin or not. Cheers.
Sounds like twisting and redefining. They may have some good things, but it sounds like it's not All true and potentially cult/ego driven. I would be careful. I personally use many different versions. It is interesting to see which words are different... but same meanings. If I run into a version that has a different Meaning, then I would be suspect of that version.

You will EXPERIENCE DIRECTLY what it means to "Love thy neighbor as yourself" when you seek communion with God within yourself.
Even if your neighbor's character is a total Styrofoam burning ahole - you will naturally love him when you meet the Christ within yourself. This cannot be explained adequately with words.
The Kingdom of heaven is within you
The Christ said that. Find it. It's not easy at first. Keep trying and don't give up.
Realize one very important fact: The entire world - the matrix/machine - is absolutely BRIMMING with distractions of EVERY KIND - to capture your attention. Go the other way....
Cast your net to the RIGHT side
Meaning, crucify your left brain, logical, never ending monkey chatter and turn to your RIGHT brain in silence.

The entire Bible was written in allegory (as explained by Paul) and is not meant to be taken literally. Why? Because it's been encoded so only those truly seeking Christ can find the way with ears to hear and eyes to see. It has hidden the true meaning to keep the evil ones who molested everything else from eradicating Christ's TRUE message.
Will you seek it within yourself and discover the Christ within yourself?
Or are you going to keep yourself chasing your tail endlessly just "studying the menu" repeatedly your entire life?

It's just like these Democrats...They say they're all about love and kindness, but don't seem to ever hit the mark. Same with the religious stuff - They say they're all about Christ's message, but utterly refuse to teach their congregation how to become quiet by crucifying their thoughts and having true communion with the Christ. Why? Because once you experience that, you'll never need them ever again! Hello!
But yanno... it's easier to fool you than to convince you you've been fooled. I care not about anything other than you - reading this - waking up truly to God's light. Everything else in this world is completely polluted and ruined, but not the Bible...oh no. That's the word of Gawd! And divine Providence has shielded it from molestation. Ninja prease.
Everything on this planet, including your religion, your book, your food, the air you breathe, water you drink and information you are fed has been tainted. The ONLY place left, is within yourself - God's Temple. Find out what that means and spend some time over at God's house...or take the blue pill and the story ends, you go back to sleep.
