Is this also a state issue or can Trump not use the federal government to drop some water here? How is it 2025 and we can't quickly deal with these fires? This is ridiculous

That's the only one left. The rest have all been contained and/or extinguished.
This is good news.

Don't know fren. I suspect fuckery afoot. Myrtle Beach is designated to be another 'smart city'
Rain should arrive tonight.
That's good to hear. All I knew was what the Twitter clickbaiters were reporting and it seemed dire. Thank you!
Born and raised local of Myrtle Beach. I live close to the beach, we did have ash fall a few nights ago, however I've got plenty of friends in the area of the fire. They could see the blaze but still were not ordered to evacuate, our fire departments can and will handle it. My oldest attends a charter school in Conway so im driving through the smoke to get him there. Everything is fine here, we're good to go.
Rain tonight will end it.
Not trivializing the damage, but 2000 acres is not that much depending where it is. The smoke inhillation is much more dangerous to people as that is spread over a larger area and doesn't have to actively be burning you to hurt you. 2000 acre is only ~3 square miles. It's big sounding, but not really that big unless it is in town, then it's more about property damage and life safety.
Burning down the house. Everybody sing...
