Amen to that. I still remember getting 'house calls' back when I was little in the '60s. Mom liked not having to load a sick, cranky kid in the car and drive to and from the doctor's office!
I wonder who convinced people to stop giving kids cod liver oil? That was a pretty standard thing in the past. I remember people who were kids during the 50’s or earlier talking about it. But, as a little kid in the 60’s I don’t remember anyone saying they had to take it.
