The supreme court ruled that they have NO obligation to protect citizens. Protect and serve refers to the government. Their badges also remind me of a certain country....
I've carried for about 15 years now in both Texas and Florida (lived there briefly). I have permits from both states. I don't have to, but I do for a very specific reason. If I get stopped for speeding the cop will likely know I have a permit when they check my plate before even getting out of their car. This is a good thing because it tells the cop I took the time to get my permit, and my background is clean.
A traffic stop is one of the most dangerous things a cop does because they don't know if that person is good or bad. Having a permit lets them know that I had a clean background at the time of the permit issuance, and am likely still a safe person.
It has also gotten me out of 2 speeding tickets and a "rolling" stop sign infraction. All 3 times I gave the cop my permit and told him where I had my gun, and we ended up talking about guns and holsters (2 of them wanted to know where I got my holster after they asked if they could see my gun). One of them thanked me for carrying - he said more responsible people should carry because it makes everyone safer (except for criminals).
When I got my Florida permit I still lived in Missouri. I did the application through the mail, but needed physical (not digital) fingerprints so I went to the county sheriff's office and asked how to do it. The sheriff was there so I went in to say hi (I helped him direct traffic around an accident once). I had talked to him then about permits, and he said I didn't need one in Missouri. This time I told him I was there to find out how to get physical fingerprints for the FL permit and he said to come with him. He took me to their fingerprint person, told them to do my prints, put them and the FL form in an envelope marked with their PD info, and mail it for me - for free. Nice guy.
It is more accurate to state that armed Americans are more effective than any government agency at stopping crime. When seconds count, government (Police) are minutes away.
That's because by the time the police are even notified, the shooter is lieing in a pool of his own blood because there was a concealed carry person on the scene.
When seconds matter, police are minutes behind.

Why do you think so many blue states make it almost impossible to CC a weapon? They want mass shootings to NOT be interrupted.
Fascinating!
An armed society is a peaceful society. They don’t want that.
Follow the MONEY
There's no MONEY in peace.
There's no MONEY in good health.
There's no MONEY in admitting the scientific fact that climate is controlled by the sun and oceans instead of humans.
There's no MONEY in natural immunity.
There's no MONEY in birthing, nurturing and protecting children.
There's no MONEY in affirming children's actual birth gender—gender denialism and surgical gonadal mutilation are a multibillion-dollar enterprise.
There's no MONEY in actual vaccine immunity (25 to 40% of a population inoculated is all that is truly necessary to protect the whole group).
There's no MONEY in everyone eating right and avoiding doctors.

Amen, anon.
Yep. Thats why we have a second ammendment.
I wonder where off-duty cops are counted in that study.
Oh and…concealed carriers are statistically more law abiding than police.

We and John Lott have known this for decades.
Common sense would tell you this would be the case.
More guns in the hands of LEGAL gun holders you mean...
Because most gun violence is done by ILLEGAL felons and gang bangers in urban areas
Carrying a handgun is much easier than carrying a cop.
Now this is the common sense approach we need more of. I like the way you think!
That's because by the time the police are even notified, the shooter is lieing in a pool of his own blood because there was a concealed carry person on the scene.
The left shit on the police
That photo isn't concealed carry but anyway
It actually is considering the man is wearing a jacket...
Maybe.
Too much depends on if the jacket is always in a position that makes the gun not openly visible. Takes a lot of focus and attention but can be done
Gun ownership and training should be mandatory for all male citizens above 18 in America. Start the training at 16 in public schools
leave the women without protection? Sorry, I care about the women in my life too much for that.
They can if they want. I'm saying to make it mandatory for men
