This is not a remake of Snow White. They are using the good will of the well known and beloved fairy tale and previous versions of Snow White to tell a completely different narrative.
Why not just write a script and name it appropriately for the message they are attempting to tell?? Because . . . it wouldn't appeal to anyone??
I watched the trailer on YouTube with rapt attention and delight - rarely do you see that level of commitment to such a completely bad idea. And the lead actress - wow - who thought THAT was a good idea.
She did good in West Side Story and Hunger Games, Songbirds and Snakes. In the latter movie, she was more white. Did they make her white for that movie, or make her darker in another Disney attempt at being woke?
I actually really loved that Hunger Games movie but she was pretty light on charisma compared to the actor who played Snow, who I thought gave a jaw dropping performance.
I've heard her sing, and she's excellent. Her personality...not so much. In interviews she comes across as patronizing, narcissistic and very unpleasant.
I never saw it! But a good question! I don't know much about where she allegedly came from or what her background is. I'm sure the real story is an interesting one.

I agree. I only enjoyed her when she was singing. Some have played her song as a resistance theme here on GAW.
she's a really good singer for sure. Not much acting going on there though hahaha.

It makes you wonder why Spielberg hired her to play Maria in his less than successful remake of West Side Story.

Mother Colombian, Father German, hence the German surname.
The Critical Drinker has the best review. Snarky, hilarious and constructive.
Snow Woke
I'm surprised they didn't release Snow Black
Started watching "Wicked" last night to see what everyone liked about it; saw the play years ago.
Couldn't watch any more after 20 min. Hollywood is Stupid!
I was turned off by its trailer.
I should have watched that first.
Tyson's Corner!! That's in the heart of cobalt blue Fairfax County, Virginia!
Notice the new Snow White's costume makes her look like the flag of Ukraine.
