No joke, it turns out the IT guy at my employer was creating a child porn server at his home. He got a knock on his door last week. Two weeks ago, before we knew he was into kids, he was subtlety bitching to me about Trump. I pushed back telling him how great it's going to be to tamp down the waste, fraud, and abuse. He begrudgingly, sort of, agreed. Anyways, from what I hear, he posted the $100k bond and is back out walking amung us, for now.
Don't be surprised if they/them get a simple slap on the wrist. A scumbag I knew was busted sharing this garbage and basically got 4 months in jail (time served) and some fines.
Some FORMER friends are even associating with him again. They're dead to me.

They basically get a bond from someone else for the full amount of the bail at usually around 10% (non-refundable). You go to court, be a good boy, bail gets released back to bondsman, they make a 10% return on investment, you're out 10% (and still have lawyer fees to look forward to).
If you're a bad boy, skip court, flee to Morocco, then government keeps the bail, so tough luck bond holder. Bond holder who will then do a cost/benefit analysis and decide if it's worth hiring Dog the Bounty Hunter or Lee Majors and Half Pint's ex-husband to drag you back in or not.

Correct as you are, the judge actually did revoke the 10% yet he still managed to post the entire 100k.
