Can an alert feature be added, so that we are alerted to when a post is created by handles we like to follow? An option in settings to add handles for me to follow. Else I am left in the dust by the time I read stuff. Everyone has moved on to the next deep state train wreck that happen every friggin minute of the day!

Emphasize before we post, we should check for duplicate posts by using search feature. It's getting ridiculous how much duplicate clutter there is. Put a flashing banner "Have you searched for duplicate posts before adding a new post to the stack?" Trigger the banner when the "Create Post" button is clicked. With a "Disregarded" button as the only acknowledgment to go on.
There has to be IT guys and gals here that would volunteer to do the coding.
I humbly ask for more clear titles. More description about what is in the post vs. click-bait type "look at this" ones.
Sorry!
I hesitated to post, because I didn't mean you. But when there's lots of post about the same topic, many of them have vague titles. So even if one did a search, they may not find that it's already been posted.
No worries. I did not take it as being mean, i took it more as founded on the right thing to do!
You can go to scored.co/feeds and program it yourself, just create a new feed and add all your favorite fren IDs to it. That's an underused resource here. If you title it well enough then other people might trust your selection of contributors. Just be cautious when adding because it's not easy to fix a feed that has too much in it.
Thank you. I will do that!
We had a techie jannie.... that is until they were driven out for wrongthink (which ended up being confirmed as true multiple times over). u/Evspra created most of this wins styling features. They also insisted on more transparency from the modteam.
But they were shitcanned for exposing many a larp that are still perpetuated to this day here, and worse yet, was replaced with a jann that admits to ties with known disinfo paytriots and has clamoured for violence dozens if not a hundred times over.
Double posts is something that could be easily fixed but is far from the greatest problems this board faces. Get rid of the bad apple jann(z) and this board would gain more users, have greater influence, and as a result prioritize truth over delusional paytriot hopium that has poisoned the well.
Thanks for the comment. The hopium stuff defies reality. And your point about disinfo paytriots is a good way to put it. They do not believe in anything except filthy lucre.
When I was on VOAT, it notified you if a post on the subject had already been posted.
Don't we wish it would be easy to have that feature here? There are plugins, maybe open source, that can do that...
I use the search here unless I know my post is so far out, no one would take a chance to post something so insane & in up in the box of shame. 😮🤣
Shush your mouth! Yours and everyone's posts here are based on strict rules of logic and analysis, and any brainstorm here is worthy for the righteous to contemplate!
Duplicate posts irritate me as well but there is good reason for it. I'm not talking breaking news where 5 people rush to post the same story but when you see the same stories show up every 4 hours for 2-3 days it is a good thing due to the fact that many do not come here every day. Duplicate posts are then a benefit to those people or to the people that check in once a day, those people can read the latest without having to scroll back 20 pages to see what they missed.
There are many things posted here that I think should be reposted more than they are. For instance, the 14 terabytes of Epstein files confiscated by the DC FBI from the NY FBI field office. I've only seen that posted once and there is nothing but crickets in here about something that huge.
Go to infowars if you want the sauce on that one.
So true. I am a big fan of infowars and the more one considers the dupes issue here, the more nuanced it gets. Repetitions are important. The principle of "timing is everything" is at play. A post will eventually get pushed way down the stack. Pepes are busy with life and out of Infowars and GAW for a few days so they miss stuff. Updoots and comments will make it HOT for awhile longer, but will disappear from the active radar. Infowars and pepe repetition and duplication keep us on guard. We can't relax in this day and age. Man the ramparts 24 x7 in the information age or be subjugated.
If it helps anyone, scored.co has a poorly documented API - someone wrote a C++ library: https://github.com/thansen0/scored_communities_api
Scored themselves said to use your browser's debugger: https://help.scored.co/article-categories/api-integration/
In theory, a separate service could be created.
Would it be a project in itself to figure out how a C++ module works, when the documentation in insufficient?
There are also state of the art languages using object oriented methods that have to pass documentation standards to be eligible to be in libraries. And now there is cutting edge research and development in software that supersedes object oriented methods that runs on supercomputers. And there is recent news of biological methods to perform super computing. Hmmmm, maybe the powers that be on GAW can order up a super computer, or a super model to perform the biological aspects? KEK
@rma82 - I read SwampRangers post mentioning scored.co today, and understand what you meant about scored.co. If I had only clicked on your links to it. I am going to do what you and SwampRangers suggested. Thanks!
I think...
This would depend on Score code....Nothing GA specifically could do to handle "subscriptions" etc
This is difficult because not everyone uses the same verbage in titles...Many just copy/paste say, an X title or something - that's easy to search. But for those that don't include the same keywords to things where they have to make up their own title - It's pretty tough to implement....especially if relying on the same "power" /S of the search function...
Would adding a AI chat bot to GAW, using only GAW posts for input, for the bot to suggest either create a post or add a comment. GAW would fly with efficiency. Elon, pick up the red phone, we need your input and technologists to be contributors for free technology to GAW...
Cool, love it!
As far as duplicates, it seems there are a fair number of screenshots of an X post without it being a link post. Sometimes the link is in the comments. Then maybe they should search for the topic before posting? That might help.
AI can analyze pictures so i think screenshots would be no problem. I believe there is no way an actual dupe would fail identification with the technology landscape we have today. If only we could designate Elons technologists as willing contributors to do this, with the understanding they would work for free.
I can't wait for Elon and crew to implement the ideas we are coming up with. Duplicate thoughts are in play now!
Would this not also limit your exposure to lets say topics not normally seeked out or sought after ?
I know it would for myself. One of the major plusses of the net is exactly this exposure to new subjects, at least for me. This is one way to expand my foundational knowledge base.
However I totally get your point. Things moving very fast. We also have to learn to disregard post/info not important to the individual but this is clearly our job to set them parameters.
Yes. Setting the parameters for what is a dupe is part judgement call. The minimum thing we should do is perform a search before creating a post, and go from there. Adding a comment to a recent post on the subject matter reduces the clutter. It is a better user experience to follow the GAW recommendation on this.
Spare a thought for us euro pedes, the new posts are made while we are asleep so when we log on the day after its old news. I shall have to write a letter to the Times harrumphing about it.
Well... 'ickle me funny bone, we 'ave a vic'im faw my spare 'hough'!!

Cockney, Geordie, Scouse or Janner? Victorian Essex speak!!!
Regular notifications aren't even working for everyone. Hard to imagine they'll take something else on.
rma82, SwampRangers, and TaQo each made a comment about alert functionality in an API residing on score.co.
First one to mention it was rma82 and provides source links.
And SwampRangers chipped in with setting it up with fren ID(s). He says you got to be careful because "it's not easy to fix a feed that has too much in it".
And TaQo chipped in with something to do with post titles.
To be continued Sunday...
I think we frogs should pull together and design, code, test, implement the most fantastic plugin dupe detector ever. Our logic decision tree could wrap around the Earth. Mour suggestions please from everyone.
I think Elon will be very impressed and will need to consult with us on various matters about bending space and time, or twirling 3 utensils on his index finger while ignoring President Trump sitting next to him.
That was a funny thing we learned about in an x post wasn't it? To be alive in this day and age of 24hr video coverage has it's pluses and minuses and that was a big fat plus. There is a lot of humor out there to put things in perspective, despite the constant drum roll of MSM doom, gloom, and eye rolls.
