Perfect existing example -- the pyramids.
Yup. Look at all these mega structures we can build but we can’t recreate some of the wonders of the world. Also the Olmec Heads. Or that temple in Mexico, where you clap your hands at the base and the sound echoed back is that of a bird chirping.
My Favorite is the Great Wall against Chinese Invasion, that the Chinese have been Deconstructing the top and putting the battlements to facing Russia instead of China....
What does that say about the Chinese???
