Sadly people are still testing and when they test positive they isolate themselves for 10(?) days. And oh my goodness, folks are still taking boosters!
I had a lady tell me that she was wearing a mask to protect others and not for herself---after I told her the masks wouldn't stop a virus---so after she said that, I asked her if she was vaccinated and she said yes. I then asked her if she was vaccinated, WHY were you scared of the virus if the vaccine worked? She just looked at me and turned away. People DON'T think!
My "masks are shit" moment came when I was watching a video someone had produced. A guy was there with a mask on his face, and a lit cigarette in his hand. He lifted the mask aside a little bit so he could take a big drag on the cigarette, and then replaced the mask and ditched the cigarette. In moments, he exhaled the smoke and it exited all around the periphery of the mask in a cloud much bigger than his head. Bingo. How are we supposed to think that viruses would not do the same thing? I'm an aerodynamicist by training, so that was for me a totally convincing disproof of masking.
My only dejection nowadays is that masking is so passe, no one does it, and I have no opportunities to be a churl and refuse to comply.
This reminds me of the guy who stood outside a store and “scanned” everyone entering with a lint roller, and no one questioned it. Think that video got scrubbed, but it was hilariously terrifying.
Do you remember the waiting room experiment where they would all stand up when a bell rang? The newcomers would just follow along even though they didn't understand why they had to stand up.
Reminds me of masking. I refused and was always being told to "just do it" and/or "everyone will feel safer if you do it". I'm a cranky Gen Xer and just kept saying NO even when they tried threatening me with "It's the law". Nope! Just a rule that our fat, drunk governor made up and I meet the exemptions to tubby drunko's rule anyway so THEY are the law breakers by trying to deny me entrance.
Every time I walk past the exact spot in Walmart where a man yelled at me, "I hope you die!" (for not wearing my mask), I cringe. I had quite a bit of anger directed at me, but that was the worst.
I just told these angry people that I care so much for them, and that masks are harming them and not stopping the virus, anyway.
I walked into a packed grocery store during the height of it without a mask and 1 guy called me an asshole, but it was so packed I couldn't tell who it was. Fucking coward.
I just went on about my business - walking into a Walmart Express one, I fucked up and actually made eye contact with the girl standing by the door with a stack of masks. She asked me if I had a mask, and I just patted my pocket, smiled, and said "yep, I sure do!"
Another time, we ate breakfast at a local diner, and our waitress, who was super good - my coffee cup never got more than 1/2 way empty - kept pulling her mask down. I could tell she didn't believe in it, and had to wear it for her job. Her manager kept coming down on her, telling her to pull it back up, and she tried to tell him she had trouble breathing with it on. We gave her an extra nice tip for having to work for that asshole.
Yea. I felt so sorry for people who had to wear the mask on the job. I told them so very often.
I always tried to get several people to go shopping maskless with me at the same time so we could give other shoppers confidence to do the same. Non compliance by the masses would have ended that nonsense.
I was proud of my sister. She is a pastor's wife in Washington, no less. They never wore masks and never stopped their services. They got death threats, visits from the sheriff... the whole works. Luckily, their sheriff would always visit before or after services, cuz he agreed with them, but he still had to make the call.
I rarely wore it, but one time I had to because the TMobile store kept trying to kick me out... and I needed to get my phone fixed. So, I made myself feel better by breathing hot air into it and fogging up my glasses so they couldn't see my eyes. Haha.
That reminds of whenTSA pat-downs were new. (I traveled a lot and seemed to get selected for it often.) It made me so angry back when it started. So, one time I told them I had been raped and that this was tramatic for me. I even built up big tears. (I wasn't raped, but was super mad about having to get felt up to board a plane, so my coping mechanism was to mess with them.) Worked out well. The TSA agent barely touched me and I laughed after I walked away.
Sorry but LOL. I remember the snake lines anywhere, like Costco, and wondering if they realized that they weren't 6' from the line right next to them. I thank God everyday that He gave me the wisdom to not comply!!
At least he didn’t get the sniffles.
I still can’t believe people actually locked themselves into their own homes for weeks if not months
Think they still are fren. Masked Covidiots

Sounds like a scene from the twilight zone

Trying to stop a virus with the little blue masks (Made In CHINA) is like trying to stop a mosquito with a chain link fence.

That one’s not familiar to me. So much nonsense.

Jesus Christ that made me sad. Especially the “everybody is more comfortable when they conform. It’s not a bad thing.”
Fuck you.

That was extremely depressing...at every step he just kept going forward. I wanted to say, turn around and leave!
That was well said.

That was a smart move...to pat your pocket.
