A Tale of Two Israels I am doing a study on God's Chosen People, Israel, and I am trying to understand something. If the Apple of God's Eye is Jacob/Israel (A man named Jacob whom God renamed the name of Israel) and his desendants including the lineage of Jesus Christ, rather than the 1948 version of a geographical location also called Israel, then how did the 1948 geographical location replace the person Jacob/Israel as God's chosen people. I am have difficulty seperating it all out. Any help is much appreciated.
I believe that we Christians are “Israel”. It’s not a place, it’s us. We are God’s people Israel.
If we are are Israel, then how do we explain this to those who say Christians are not, but only the Jews are God's chosen people. I have tried to rationalize Christians as part of the "Israel" of the Bible by assuming that the majority of Christians were descendants of Jacob, and when Saul of Tarsus began the Christian genocide, many Christians fled to other countries, thus leading to the spread of Christianity, however, I struggle with how to explain that both Christians and Jews can be descendants of of Jacob/Israel, but not from the geographical location of Israel on a map. Am I running in circles?
Our baptism as Christians gives us the Holy Spirit, we become Christ's own, and part of his body on Earth, it is the New Covenant, the new Jerusalem. Jews still have the chance to convert and get baptized, to become part of the living body of Christ. When Jesus said, the Temple will be destroyed, and then re built in 3 days, what he was talking about was his crucifixion and resurrection. When Jesus said that the scriptures would be fulfilled with him, he was not talking Old Testament and how he was there to lay down the law, no, he was talking about that the scripture had always prophesied a Messiah, and that the Messiah did come in Jesus the Christ. Do you believe that God in Christ is God? We are chosen to receive him.
Thanks so much for this post. Yes. I believe that God is Christ. I have been trying to wrap my head around the war between Palestine and Israel, and if it is prophetic, or if it is deep state engineered to mimic prophecy. I pray the innocent will no longer have to suffer and that the Saving Israel for Last, will happen soon, so no more innocent blood is shed.

I think after the Assyrian Empire conquered & dispersed the 10 northern tribes of Israel, that some escaped or already were in Judah / Jerusalem & intermarried with the Tribe of Judah and possibly Lewi /Levi.

Another theory is that some of the Lost Tribes spread throughout Europe. Dan to Denmark, Joseph’s sons Ephraim & Manasseh to British Isles. I am not into the theory, but it’s out there.
The 1948 geographical location does not displace the person Jacob / Israel or his descendants. The issue is whether or not through the process of Jewish migration o the land with Rothschild support (before & after British takeover from the Ottomans) results in God intervening somehow in he future in the midst of some major battle over the land, does an antichrist or “horn” ruler (from the book of Daniel) appear who needs to be opposed, or does this population simply get wiped out?
The USA & other nations should not blindly give money, or trade, but should act in manner of loving all the neighbors as ourselves, doing to ”all” of the others as the USA would have done to the USA. Imagine how peaceful things could be if we constructively engaged to help with agriculture Jews& Palestinians, instead in the past decades we’ve had CIA schemes and recently no-name McCain schemes for Syria.
