Could it have been Ukrainians? Sure.
Could it have been an FBI/CIA/DS op saying they were Ukrainian? Equally plausible.
Just look at history. JFK/MLK/RFK were likely govt ops. FBI was the driving factor in the whole Michigan Gov Whitmer plot. Patriot Front. J6. Crossfire Hurricane and Seth Rich. MK Ultra. The last 2 assassination attempts on Trump. The list is endless.
The fact that the FBI sent "suicide" letters to MLK kind of says it all. They like to pretend to be inclusive, but to this very day its the party of slavery that keeps on insisting that everyone be defined by color of skin and not by character. They still refuse to hear King's words. Harris being their most recent candidate (not even selected by voters - appointed without voter approval by the party alone) even made a career out of keeping the slave trade alive in her state.

Considering the U.S. has been curating, directing, and advising the Ukrainian government and military, there is no distinction between them. Ukraine may provide the voice and face, but the U.S. is providing the thoughts and actions.
This is clearly a case of the U.S. deep state using the guise of Ukraine to troll for Trump assassin wannabees and sprinkling fertilizer on them. That's how you make up for the uncertain marksmanship of snipers---use machine guns.
