"Ministers have approved more than £100,000 in additional funding for Scotland Yard detectives investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Home Office sources said a request to provide up to £108,000 was approved for the probe, known as Operation Grange, for 2025-26.
It is understood one detective chief inspector, one detective constable and one member of police staff are working on the investigation. Funding given to Operation Grange has totalled more than £13.2m since 2011.

No, they aren't thinking of another girl, they're thinking of Madeline. I know because I dug into it and I think the same. All the evidence shows she died in the apartment, likely falling head-first down the back of a sofa trying to reach for a window while she was dosed-up on sedatives by negligent doctor-parents (doctors? negligent? noooo).
The evidence (namely sniffer dog) points to her having died in the apartment, her body stashed (theory is fridge/freezer) and moved later. The apartment and the hire car were the only two places specialised sniffer-dogs found her scent. The problem is though, the dogs picked up the scent in the car which was hired AFTER she'd gone missing. There is absolutely nil evidence of abduction, no forced entry, no contemporaneous witnesses, nada.
Also note the parents litigate anyone who publishes a narrative where blame is placed on the parents. The fact they haven't been arrested (yet) is astounding to me.

Where'd the police sketches come from?
This is a genuine question: why would high ranking government officials, with a lot to lose, commit a child kidnapping? Wouldn’t it make more sense to pay some underling to do it? I agree those sketch drawings look like the Podestas and etc.
Hubris + demonic possession perhaps, as well as opportunity. Those high ranking officials get to treat the world like their own playpen, unlike a pleb, and doing it themselves would eliminate potential snitches from the chain, though I'm sure they'd use a trusted middle man if available, such as epstein
