Wouldn't you use both if you actually wanted them to stay up there for days? Without the ropes to hold the weight could the wrist bones hold a man's weight for days?
Jesus was crucified for our sins, and all that look to Christ for salvation shall be saved therefore rejoice, in God our savior. it seems, that the only thing that will be man-made in heaven, are the scars in the hands and in the side of Jesus ("Behold he comes with the clouds and every eye shall see him and those also who pierced him" Revelations 1:7) But Nailed, tied or both, Christ was crucified (died) for our Redemption that is God's message! Jesus said,"You Blind guides, who strain out a knat and swallow a camel" Matthew 23:24 (major on the minor)
I think that both actually happened. Spikes alone through his hands, and feet would be insufficient enough to hold up his body mass on the cross. The limited amount of flesh and or bone in the area would literally be ripped straight through having him fall off the cross. In old days, using metal rings or ropes where the common way to crucify people and have them starve to death, so I am sure they used a little bit of both technique where he was probably roped up to the cross around his wrists and ankles, and for added insult to injury, a spike driven through his hands
Another woke journal that promotes blasphemy
Why Protestantism is becoming a failure. Too many interpretations and no real governing structure.

You are correct.

"many will come in MY name saying I (Jesus) am the Christ and deceive MANY---not just a few but MANY.
Christianity Todayhas been woke for years. You always take them with a grain of salt.
I vote for "King" Charles for worst Easter message, even though it was for Maundy Thursday. He's such a simp.

Tell us more about this "Bible scholar" because I say whomever it is, they are dumber than a stanchion.
They always miss the point, that CHRIST beard was pulled out!
Didn't know this rag existed. I guess I'll forget about it soon enough, it doesn't deserve relevance.
