Jesus was crucified by the "religious" people of his day. Following Jesus is not a religion, its a change of heart. And the "church" is not a building, its the group of believers/followers of Jesus. We dont need religion or the 501c3 churches that are all controlled by the "system". We need changed hearts by way of repentanceπππ
What are you saying? Jesus himself said in Matthew 18:17
"If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won't accept the church's decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector."
Of course the Church is not perfect but consider 2 things first
There is only one church which still follows the practices of the same Church we had 2.000 years ago and that is the Orthodox Church, none else. I assume you are from US so you are not aware of this denomination and you are looking at this from the eyes of a Protestant or Evangelical which... is not even close.
I believe in the Church of the Body if that's what you mean. Christ is the head of the church and we are all members in particular. Is it a minimum 3 people who make a church in the bible? I believe in that church. And if I qualify what I mean by religion I'm talking about all the man made stuff churches pass off as biblical. I call that religion.
Our body is a temple/vessel for our soul and Christ is the head of the Church, but how can you be a member of His Church if you are not a member to begin with?

It is sad to me that i see so many lost sheep in this community, coming to their own headcannon conclusions without even knowing the basics of our Lord's Word.

Religion is man's attempt to get right with God, which is impossible. Christians believe that God made us right with Himself through the death and resurrection of Jesus, and inviting us into a personal relationship with Him. It's the opposite of religion.
The Church was ordered by Jesus Christ himself multiple times.
For example in Acts 15:1β29 they used their authority to settle doctrinal disputes, the apostles said so themselves that they were guided by the Holy Spirit to make the right decisions.
Even in the Revelation Jesus who appeared in front of John he told him what to say to a number of Churches, scolding some while praising others.
We need the Church even thought it is not perfect, we can not stand without a house.
