One of the big disappointments I, as a Canadian, have experienced during this election is the reaction from nearly half the people here on GAW. Brainless comments like "they got what they deserved", "they're a bunch of sheep, baa, baa", "the Trump curse in effect because Poilievre bashed him,", etc, etc.
This post is pointing to the truth. It's damned refreshing. It needs more upvotes.
I don't know anyone who supported liberals. Have barely seen a campaign sign for them, but somehow they won ridings that they haven't held in decades with candidates no one has heard of.
The Liberals rigged every part of their leader race to install Carney, and the state funded media pumped nothing but Trump fear to the senior citizens that are the only demographic that watches TV and overwhelmingly votes liberal.
The youth keeps swinging more and more conservative, so I guess we have hope for the future but I feel horrible cause I've already done well riding out the liberals, I can't say the same for others.
I mean FFS I'm better off financially than my bosses.
Clueless Boomers (65% polled Liberal). Immigrants (free welfare). Natives (free welfare). Jails (for some reason can vote - soft on crime). and sheep who only read occasional msm headlines of propaganda and swallow it up. NDP intentionally tanked their own vote to hand Liberals all their votes.
Add in of course poll workers filmed taking boxes home the weekend before...
Conservatives got record turnout - just like Trump in 2020 - and yet somehow lost election.
I never put money into an RRSP, and only have some in a TFSA, I'm blue collar and bought a fixer upper young and all my money has really gone into the house. Right place, right time. So now my major concern is if I'm going to get hit with the home equity capital gains tax.
Our plan was always to move to a rural area, which is looking ~2 years out. If they actually implement a capital gains tax on primary dwellings that affects me it's either compensate with the RRSP, or if it's that big sell before it comes in.
If I have to sell then I've got a lot of room to shelter what I don't need to spend on a property in the TFSA and RRSP.
And yes, all my main holdings are in the US. Lol not investing in this clown country with its clown currency. Even my holdings that are down are still up because our currency has fallen so far.
I'm genuinely concerned for others my age and younger. Hopelessness is dangerous.
Yeah, this doesn’t sound so good. Hopefully renovations can be deducted. Not many would have kept receipts for that though.
This is my friend’s theory. That they will tax the homes.
People will mortgage them to pay the tax, but still get to live in them. Not sell.
Not unless there are some container homes or vacant condos waiting around.
The homes won’t be passed down to Gen Z. It’s just like Blackrock in the US owning whole streets.
“You will own nothing and you will be happy.”
Seems like Canada’s housing market was inflated just for this scheme. Notice this will harm Canadian citizens. There’s a hold on foreign ownership for now, so that they don’t get caught up in the scheme.
Yeah that ones ludicrous. My riding flipped liberal and there's literally no campaign signs up for them whatsoever. It was a clear race between the Conservatives and Incumbent NDP, and somehow both lost to the non-existent candidate.
I regret to inform you Canada doesn't have to cheat to make sure the Left wins. Canada imported enough people from shitholes now that the scales have tipped forever in the direction of the left. The number of innovative and people who believe in individuality are in the minority. People from shitholes that always vote for communal things (and create shitholes because of it) have taken over.
It's patently obvious - Dominion forgot to 'update' their 'unconnected' machines enough before the election, and need to rig the software more to create the 'preferred' outcome, but cannot do it while the public is watching them like a hawk in real time.

What’s your strategy for the economic times ahead? Certainly capital gains will continue to be a problem. Are you mostly invested in the US?

Exactly.
Everywhere the cheating happens.

It's all fake and gay. Always has been.

Replacement agenda going as planned. Prime Ministers are puppets.
Canada -> Canindia.
In a long enough timeline, the lefties win every time. 🤔🤨
And the name of that timeline is worldwide vote fraud.
