The US Military equestrian units are... in need of help. I think the Marines Color Guard has less than 10 horses. I think all horse units should be better, bigger, more showy and somehow honor Sgt. Reckless.
Oh no! I'm disappointed to hear the Esquestrian Units are not being maintained. Can you send me more info/links regarding this? I intend on contacting someone that will call POTUS' attention to this because he's mentioned having Equestrian Units in Parades before.
I don't know that they are not being maintained and I think one is always safe in assuming the handlers, riders and stable staff are at the very top of their game.
I do see the horses on parade and standing guard in the UK, and parade Palominos.
I think we can do better and we can do more.
For fun look up the history of the Old Guard stables at Arlington, and the change from donated horses to the beautiful animals and conditions they live under today.
We should have the best animals, care and turnout in the world.
For the upcoming parade, the military units might be able to borrow some city police horses. They are trained and conditioned to deal with something like a parade and will do fine as long as their riders are competent.
Everyone is concerned about parade poop, no one more that the people marching behind an equestrian unit.
Parade poop wrangling is a highly specialized and regimented field. The logistics have all been worked out. Bun bags where the manure never hits the ground, scoopers following the horses, training the horses to poop on cue, manure bags for horses in harness that attach between the horse and what ever they are pulling...
The manure situation is well in hand.
I think they should get the Gramma who was arrested on J6 inside the Capitol to be one of the equestrian riders along with a representation the rest of the J6ers. And then have one equestrian division ('unofficial') be all a group of 100 representing the local militia 'minutemen' patriots out in the hills and dales ready to defend our country upon request, and then a 3rd 'division' of equestrian mounted 'Keyboard Warriors' carrying keyboards and cell phones. Remember the qdrop about how this is a non-hot war using memes, and other communication tools.... Just nobody take your cell phones with you, or credit cards. Cash only.
Hmm. Fun fact: riding a horse is a skill acquired with time, effort, eating dirt, the realization and acknowledgement that you WILL be injured, and a not insubstantial amount of poo involvement. Riding a horse in optimal conditions takes all these skills to maintain safety. In highly volatile environments, ie: PARADES (people, dogs, balloons, children, flappy things, and all manner of triggers for the horses), is not for the new (green) rider.
1200lbs of "can loose my mind at any time" takes a relationship and knowledge of the individual horse.
I like your suggestion of the inclusion of militia, but this is an opportunity for people to be driven rather than mounted. Too unsafe.
So important that the equine history of our country not be forgotten! it was built on the backs of horses, mules, and the animals that help build our farms.
See this site about the US Army color guard, about the reenactment of authentic regalia, and our historical dependence on horses and molly mules!
This is the army color guard; there is another one for Marines.
Maybe the parade will roll over tunnels that hold children victims and then stop and rescue them under the threat of military guns. They will pull kids out of the tunnels on t.v. im front of the world. The children will know relief is at hand as they hear the parade approach.
If that isnβt one of the best triple headers Iβve seen in a long time!! Well of course besides the Father/Son/Holy Spirit!
Absolutely Amen! π

Bravo, but just a thought:

True...
My nephew is PD, mounted division.
Agreed unless their concerned about horse crap along the parade route.

You're correct, I wasn't thinking. I just like to see horses in parades and on display.
No worries; we all like to see them. You deserve to see them. They are beautiful.

rallyβs and parades, what a waste of money. I wanna see criminals locked up.
Whereβs Ms. βItβs on my deskβ these days? Fox News? Get back to work Blondi, those predators on the list are violating children as we speak.

You would deny your Troops R & R ? An occasional real hot Meal ? Some little reward to continue to hold the line ?
The Founding Fathers never wanted a permanent standing army.
I couldnβt agree more. Iβm just not waiting for the mainstream media to paint Trump as some 1940s European dictator because of it.
Waiting? They've been doing it for many years now!
Seems that is what "Europeans" have always preferred , except those that grew balls and left of course.
But dictators don't tend to promote weapons & free speech do they ?
