Came here to say that too. (They) want us divided. I know plenty of Catholics who believe that the Kingdom of God lies within us. I was raised Southern Baptist but now hold a somewhat different, although Christian, view of God, but I refuse to use my belief to drive a wedge in our midst.
Who is the head of the Church?? The Bible - God's infallible word - says that Christ is the head of the Church!
Ephesians 5:23 "For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body."
The Catholic church claims the 'Pope is the head of the Church". It would seem they are at odds with God's Word.
I have no dog in this fight, nor do I suspect that you do either. My relationship with my God, and with Christ, is my own business. I won't be a party to decisive chatter here.

Hi, im a catholic. I want to reunite with orthodox, I think the Filioque schism was romes fault, and the pope is not infallible, and he is not above any other bishop in authority. Nearly every catholic I know feels the same.
I grew up Protestant and am turning Catholic because of scripture. I have watched many debates between Catholics and Protestants on YouTube and Catholics always site scripture.
Sure - all 1.4 billion of them are this way.
Do you really NEED a man in flowing garments to be the middleman between you and the Creator? Do you really believe he can talk to God on a more secure line than you?
Faith and spirituality let you communicate directly with God, at any time and place of your choosing, for free.
Religion is a mannade grift where they charge you to come to their building, at their chosen time, and let them talk to God for you...as if lowly bad sinner you aren't spiritual enough to get God's attention without their holier than thou intercession.

I have yet to encounter a Protestant that has a deep understanding of the Catholic Church doctrine. They are so blinded by their irrational hatred of it they don’t actually look into it.
Funny enough in most Protestant vs Catholic debates the Protestant ends up converting. Matt Fradd (Pints with Aquinas) is one of the best Catholic debaters.
First off, props for being “awake” it’s a step up from death. But let’s get real: claiming you’re awake doesn’t always mean "awake" We got degrees of being awake. I'm happy many of you didn't follow the teachings of the last pope, but what about the one before him or him before him? My main point is actually not the dragon popes but the very foundation of the catholic church itself. The Catholic Church has a long history of scandals, think of the sale of indulgences in the Middle Ages, the persecution of protestants after the reformation and of course the different crusades or the more recent cover-ups of child abuse. These aren’t just missteps; they’re signs of an institution more invested in power than in truth. The Bible itself calls out such corruption. In Matthew 23:27, My point is could it be that the very institution is nothing more then a seat of Satan and if that's the case why not leave it and be you own church?
If you think the Crusades are unjustified then you defeated your own argument.

Catholicism is much older than Protestantism. Given enough time, corruption grows in organizations. As far as child abuse goes, it was easier to sue the Catholic Church than other organizations because it was one big established group. However, if you look at schools, sport teams - there is a lot of child abuse but these are smaller groups to sue (think of Penn State). When you are young, being your own church doesn't work out very well. You need to learn things externally.
Amen. Catholics are nice people but what does GAW say about symbolism? Jesus Christ is my high priest. Jesus Christ is my intercessor. Jesus Christ is my way to The Father. No pope needed.

I didn't come here to mock, judge, or portray Catholics negatively, nor to sow division in people's minds. I came to express what I have observed. Can I be harsh and arrogant at times? Yes, but it's only because I care.

The problem you have, is that isn't what Catholics believe. Catholics believe in the primacy of the bishop of Rome (Pope) over other bishops throughout the Catholic Church. This is because Peter was personally installed as Head of the Apostles by Christ Himself.
Matthew 16:18
"And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
That is to say the Church will be attacked by Satan. The Apostolic succession is the line of bishops stretching back to the apostles which are charged with defending against that attack, but Satan will attack none the less. Those who serve in the church are assigned a post in defense of God as a solider in a holy war. It is expected that there will be apostasy within the church. There are those that will desert their post, but the question is who will maintain their faith.
Luke 18:8
"I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"
For over a 100 years the devote within the Church have recorded visions that such an attack was coming. It was expected that there would be an infiltration, a deep church attack run by Freemasons in an attempt to destroy the church.
Prophecy of the AntiChrist
So not only do Catholics not see the Pope as above God; rather just the leader of the bishops, but the Catholic church is anticipating an attack by Satan on the church by Freemasons (Deep Church) that will test the faith of believers and openly exhibit apostasy at the highest levels of the church (i.e. Pope).
If I had a dime for every Protestant I met who has zero understanding of Catholicism I would be loaded.
lol the consequences of the reformation have wrecked havoc I western civilization. Even Martin Luther had a lot of regrets and acknowledged that his actions led to widespread heresy.
