I hadn't either. Did a search and read a few blurbs, haven't delved deep.
Per dickipedia:
Robert LaVoy Finicum (January 27, 1961 – January 26, 2016) was one of the American militants who staged an armed occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge headquarters....
I guess he was killed in some sort of traffic stop CBS news:
FBI agent indicted on five felony charges that he lied about shooting at Robert "LaVoy" Finicum just before man was killed by Oregon police ...
BBC:
LaVoy Finicum, a man who seemed to stand apart from the rest. He was articulate, for a start, and clearly trusted by the militia leader, Ammon Bundy.
I saw it live. The agent made a piss poor dive for the path of the vehicle. They wanted clear reason to kill them all. They didn't expect him to drive completely off the road to miss the agent. Didn't matter they still had to follow script. Bundy knew it and got himself away from the vehicle to take all the bullets. What they say, was him reaching for a gun, is clearly him being shot. They didn't expect that move either, oh well follow script and try and kill the family.
LaVoy wasn't one of the "militants" who was occupying the Park. He was a mediator walking messages back and forth between the Bundy group (MSM says militants but they were protesting) and officials.
LaVoy was going to a Town Hall with the County Sheriff to plead the case that the Feds were overstepping their authority (which they were). The idea was the Sheriff with the support of the town was going to show up and kick the Feds out of his county.
He was ambushed on a blind corner in the snow. Agent tried to jump in front of him but you could clearly see him swerve to avoid this jackass. They were firing into the truck where he had 2 teenagers and another person with him.
He came out with his hands just effectively saying "just shoot me then" and drew their fire away from the truck.
Feds claimed he was brandishing a firearm, which he never drew.
Pretty sure in court the Bundy group was cleared of all charges. They have a right to be armed on Park land. A law regarding carrying firearms while protesting were put in place AFTER this happened.
In the moment they had every right to protest armed in the Park. It was only made illegal after the fact.

Heard of Bundy, but not so much, this guy.
There were kids (teens) in the car they filled with holes but they didn’t die.
Wouldn't doubt it. The official narrative:

I saw it happen as well.
