I remember trying to read Wind in the Willows while sick with Chicken Pox.

Still can't now. Those cute little moles and toads were nightmarish. The doc came and said "That looks like smallpox" - his words sounded like they came through a tube. (I got the pussy, staph chicken pox that was making the global rounds at the time).
